You’d think DougCo would adopt more stringent rules — particularly about travel outside the country.

Early odds for measurable snow for Thursday-Friday from NWS Boulder:

About 10% for Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins (looks about right to me)

I think the odds for south metro are low...current lean would be most of DougCo/Elbert/foothills get on the board.

Starting to get a better idea about Thu/Fri impacts. Early leans:

1) Solid rain in Denver Thu PM/Fri AM, 1/2"+ possible

2) First flakes likely Fri AM, with little/no accumulation in Denver

3) Could get a solid 3-6"+ above 6k feet south of Denver (DougCo/Palmer Divide)

Outgoing conservative DougCo school board member Becky Myers said the quiet part out loud. Then, just a minute later, she denied they were trying to railroad it through before the new board took over.

Regardless, the less than subtle attempt failed.

Check out the latest round of games using taxpayer $$ by the DougCO School Board.Their Prez slid a last-ditch effort on the agenda to insulate charters from contract reviews for 10 years, when the unofficial standard is 3-5 years. I'm siding with critics who say this is unethical. buff.ly/tLnWcz6
Outgoing Douglas County School Board to vote on last-minute 10-year charter school extensions
Under the proposal, charter schools up for renewal would automatically receive 10 additional years without submitting paperwork or undergoing review.

NEW: The lame duck conservative majority on the DougCo School Board plans to use its last meeting Tuesday to pass a 10-year extension for all charter schools without a review of their performance and finances. @marshallglasses.bsky.social reports:

This outgoing conservative majority proving once again that cruelty is the point. The people of Dougco voted against this cruelty and they can’t take no for an answer.
November 8, 2025 at 12:14 PM
I need to clarify something: It’s the lame duck conservative majority on the DougCo school board putting the trans athletes ban up for discussion but those members didn’t stand for reelection. It was a new slate of conservatives that lost every DougCo BOE race this week.
November 8, 2025 at 6:56 AM
DougCo voters already told these four how they feel about this non-issue on Tuesday. That’s why the “common sense” slate lost.

In addition, I believe the entire DougCo school board was taken over by Dems!

This is insane. DougCo?! Love to see it.
Colorado Republicans had targeted school board races as their best opportunity in 2026 but teachers union and Democrat-backed candidates lead in Denver, Jefferson County, Cherry Creek, and even conservative Douglas County, per 9NEWS' Jennifer Meckles. #copolitics

So incredibly relieved to see this! Teachers and children deserve so much better than the overreaching radicalism the MFL gang has subjected DougCo to in recent years.

Don't tell him about the DougCo school board elections!
November 5, 2025 at 4:42 PM
This is very good news as DougCo is the seat of MAGA in the metro area.
November 5, 2025 at 1:32 PM
Listen, in DougCo “moderate” basically means “solidly Dem” and I’ll take it
MIDNIGHT UPDATE: Moderate/Dem-backed candidates are currently sweeping every school board race in conservative Douglas County, Colorado (home to a famous school voucher experiment). Would give moderates total 7-0 control of the school board. #copolitics

Even dougco?! This is great news.

I’m just a pup at 55. And agree! Good day in CO with LL & MM passing, the four good ones carry the DougCo school board down here and last I saw that racist white lady who banged the “gangs are taking over Aurora” drum is currently losing her council seat. Dig it.
November 5, 2025 at 4:17 AM
Hey us teachers in DougCo don’t need any new nonsense please 🫣
November 5, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Thank God.

I lived in DougCo until 2012 when it was the top district in the state. They were just starting to try to pass vouchers, but had been largely held at bay.

I'm shocked to see what has happened to the schools there. I hope it can be the best district again.

I don’t get to walk in the morning anymore and after everything we’ve been through, seen, experienced, it seems unimportant to even mention.

I started turning my phone off to see why DougCo sheriff and Parker pd always showed up, up to and including escalation of violence being openly used now.

Why are the candidates for our school board always normal people vs the craziest fuckers you've ever met? This go round it's "Let's work to retain quality teachers and expand access to the arts and mental health" vs "PROTECT GIRLS IN THE BATHROOM!!!"
