We're hosting a food drive for Food for Lane County! SUN, NOV 16, 1-4 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church!
Oregon SNAP may have been restored, but the shutdown is still here & the Trump admin appealed the ruling. We aren't out of the woods yet!

when i made zeldas rice chicken and veg dinner tonight i put a little dired chicken neck treat in her bowl as an extra bit of meat. she obviously went for it first but then smelled the actual food, dropped the treat immediately, and ate her dinner first. Never in my LIFE have i seen her do that

Instead of enabling Evil mode globally, I now have it turned on only in buffers with major modes derived from prog-mode or text-mode.
Since Evil is disabled in non-editing buffers like Magit and Dired (where it was a nuisance), I got rid of Evil collection and cut my startup time in half.

On the topic of fruits: I'm a bit careful with fresh or dired fruits because from my experience they easily create mold no matter how sterile I worked.

Copying files from the #emacs file manager 'dired' is pretty nice. Open two windows, one with the source, the other with the target location, and you can move files around and refile lots of documents really fast.
But moving stuff to my NAS as an async file transfer often fails.

I'm curious to know how long ago you watched TMP and if you have seen the Director's Edition? You're not going to solve the Spock-Kirk-McCoy question since you have Decker and Ilea buuuutt the DirEd is a much tighter story overall.
