I don’t entirely blame the diocese for doing what its lawyers say, but it’s insane that its lawyers don’t recognize that a church (of all institutions) benefits from having a reputation for recognizing and righting its own harms, and this is exactly the opposite.

John Carroll SJ

That's how I read the website, yes. I haven't been in that diocese for over a decade and am mostly out of the loop.

Yes! Which also means more shared decision-making across the diocese; there needs to be a real sense that the diocese is actually governed for its whole people and not just special interests or politically powerful parishes

I think Anglicans should really double-down on the diocese as the basic unit of the church, especially in an era where individual parishes are struggling so much. This is a team-based ministry, not a loose federation of congregational fiefdoms.

The Diocese of Dallas is one of the more conservative places in the whole church; this is a stunner tbh. (I am an Episcopal priest and seminary professor.)

The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas basically saying “if you’re ICE/CBP you’re likely going to hell” even before yesterday’s murder 💜
"I urge any who are involved in the administration of the current immigration enforcement regime at any level to seek the counsel of their clergy, given my urgent pastoral concern for the moral and spiritual injury that their participation is causing them." - Bp. Rob Price of Dallas, 1/1/2026

Clarified below this is the Episcopal bishop of Dallas (I don't know him, but the diocese as a whole is not known for being especially progressive)

Absolutely! Will say a prayer of thanksgiving and I will email the diocese as well.

From the Episcopalian diocese of Dallas. Catholic bishops haven't done this yet, so far as I know, but they should.

The Diocese of Oxford has opened a consultation on what people want from their new Bishop. The incumbent, Bishop Steven Croft, is retiring in July. An online survey is open until 4 February. www.oxford.anglican.org/news/share-y...

Yes me too! Catholic school that’s why I hate to church now because when we were really young, the priest made us wear hose with garters disgusting fucking pedophiles and all they do is move the pedophile priest to another diocese. No, no more Catholic bullshit for me.
January 8, 2026 at 3:14 AM
Priest…no, deacons there does seem to be a cadence that is monotone and sing song at the same time….at least in my diocese

I have noticed that some of the younger FSSP priests will sometimes have a more gravely voice when preaching. This sample size is five so take it for what it’s worth.

That diocese has been going through some things. Praying he shifts quite a bit.

I used to live in Wisconsin. I used to be Catholic. I know five Priests from Madison Catholic Diocese. I still am in contact with two.

But I have zero respect for these 100 Priests who gathered at Mar-A-Lago last March for a weekend of Support to Trump, and he wasn’t even there.
