He’s repeatedly betrayed his most vulnerable constituents—trans people, folks in homelessness—to advance his career. Smart, brave leadership looks nothing like that.

sadly, recent years have made it clear that singals arrogance and contempt for good science has not only failed to result in the collapse of his career, but has instead become the defining norm for coverage of any scientific field the leadership of prestige media considers politically controversial

She hasn’t abandoned her own identity to prop up her husband’s career, nor has she turned herself into a brand. She exists comfortably in her own expertise, which quietly reinforces the idea that leadership doesn’t require ego dominance, it requires competence and trust.

If AOC runs in 2028 her political career is over (assuming reelection) in 2036. No bueno.
AOC runs for Senate and, eventually, is Senate Majority Leader. I'll take 20 years of AOC leadership over 8 years.

Kai Wagner's departure to Birmingham City is official.

I note this part of Bradley Carnell's statement in the Union's announcement:

"At this time, we are honoring Kai’s wishes to continue his career in Europe, as he feels this is the right step for him and his family."

She hounded school shooting survivors and has said heinous transphobic and antisemitic shit. Those things gave her right-wing clout and a political career. This isn't about "policy preferences." This is about an abhorrent person who should not be in a leadership position in this country.
And if you refuse to give someone credit for standing for liberal democracy just because they don’t agree with your policy preferences, you’re missing the big picture. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...

Thinking about getting another masters but in organizational leadership and then think about medical school.

The second masters will put in six figures and possibly be ability to move anywhere in my career. But it’s just a thought until I do some research.

Kept my federal career and public service going.

Continually supported friends and family suffering mentally.

Released myself from resentments long held.

Practiced mindfulness in community over 100x.

Continued leadership in queer employee group in spite of *waves arms wildly*

Didn't give up.
Every year around this time I do the same thread and it has been a lot of fun.

Tell me something you did in 2025 that you're proud of that you want everyone to know about. Did you write a book? Did you get a promotion? Did you survive the year?

I want to spend the end of the year celebrating you.

I’m running for the U.S. Senate because Maine people deserve steady, proven leadership that puts them first.

I’ve spent my career standing up to bullies, delivering real results, and fighting for our state — and I’m ready to bring that same backbone to Washington.

After 8 years in my career, I remain deeply passionate about teaching and my current leadership role, yet I'm seeking a different type of school experience.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had the opportunity to do the most enjoyable and, hopefully, meaningful work of my scientific career thanks to the leadership of former NINDS Director Walter Koroshetz. He and his team at NINDS created visionary scientific programs for the pain field. He will be missed...
More news (not good) from NIH

The renewal request from National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke Director Walter Koroshetz has been denied.

I guess the NIH_leadership™ needed another position to fill with their time-tested recruitment process.

the two trigrams together form the 同人 (like-minded people) hexagram

the 易经 (Book of Changes) says this symbolises deep friendship, a strong bond, where unity can overcome any obstacle. all desires will be fulfilled and all will go well

they're telling us their strong wishes/promises for 2026 🥺🥺

Besides, leadership requires the ability to get people to follow you. At the lower rungs of the career ladder, where people have to succeed to keep advancing to more cerebral levels, that often means to get troops to literally follow.

ICE and Border Patrol fail to understand the bargain between public sector career professionals and elected/appointed leadership — that is, if you act within the bounds of law and policy, you get to keep your job as administrations come and go

lawless thug behavior guarantees that deal is GONE
Dox every one of these goons, and make sure they come to understand that before they know it, the regime that protects them will be gone, and they'll have to hope and pray it's only the law that holds them to account.
Remember how after every big natural disaster all the gun-humping threeper dorks come out of the woodwork with their $7,000 ARs and cosplay outfits to “prevent looting”

where are those “principled conservatives” now, I wonder*

(* trick question, they’re the ones in the ERO vests)

he was a man in his 80s, and these were the groups, people, and institutions he came through his career thinking of as moral advisors. And they didn’t act. it was a failure of much of the top leadership circles of the party, though it wasn’t perhaps so starkly clear until too late.
