Taylor on the Canons of Patent Claim Interpretation and Construction
David O. Taylor (Southern Methodist University - Dedman School of Law) has posted The Canons of Patent Claim Interpretation on SSRN. Here is the abstract: Justice Scalia identified three sets of canons governing the interpretation of legal texts. As for the third set of canons, those "specifically applicable to language in the various types of private documents," Justice Scalia dispensed with considering them, in part because "they have been well covered elsewhere." In this regard, he referenced various restatements of the law and treatises, each related to contracts, insurance policies, or wills.

Spending the day reading a novel in The (Not Only) Bluegrass Bunker, listening to music. But, the mind wanders and I decided to refresh the #vinyl wall with artistic interpretation of landscapes. Winter is in the air.

This new interpretation of the Abstract has penetrated Western philosophy to a such extent, that when people say "Platonism", that's automatically what they are thinking of.

However, Plato was thinking you participated in a communion with the divine, simply by experiencing the world.

Google Search says: While many animals recognize faces & the general configuration of eyes + a mouth, they do not interpret 2 dots & a half circle as a human smile. The human-like interpretation of these simple, abstract symbols is a function of our brain's social & learning capacities & is not...

This silk meisen kimono presents a striking modernist interpretation of traditional Japanese nature motifs, featuring an abstract network of intertwining tree branches rendered in deep teal against a warm coral-pink ground. 1930s, Japan

Ah. The abstract. What you see is more telling than what it is.

Were you excited about the ‘Carnarvon flapjack octopus’, but disappointed at the lack of cute photos? To rectify this, I have read the article and here offer my artist's interpretation of the newly described species:

Unsolicited testimonial:

_Looking Back_, a commission for me by Virensere, is one of my favorite interpretations (and contextualizations) of my character.

Check out their portfolio, and don't hesitate to hire them if you like what you see.

I’m doing what I can to describe the quilts in alt text, and I also took pictures of the artist statements about each quilt. I’m putting those in the alt text too, so I can credit the artists and give context.

SEND: it depends what you mean by student-centred.
My interpretation of pupils in special settings is that material-to-be-learned is DAFT: disconnected, abstract, fast & transient.
Offering pedagogical solutions that aren't designed to address this is itself a bit daft.
