BTW, new people, these fools are Fusilli (I know, I know, best puli name ever) and Celosa. They sometimes stop by, mainly to ask for food, but sometimes to accept adoration.

Did you know it's a norm here to use alt text? It helps people who can't see the photos very well, sometimes with humor.

I can’t overstate that nearly every good headline coming out of Minnesota has been followed up by retaliation by the Trump administration—which tends to get a lot less attention.

This is infuriating and devastating.

K is fascinated by big air. He’s never seen any sort of winter sport before. He was born right after the last Winter Olympics. 🏂

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

After nearly 40 years, Megadeth finally landed its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The band’s self-titled album, 'Megadeth', debuted at the top, following 23 charting releases and a previous peak of No. 2 with 1992’s 'Countdown to Extinction'.

Tonight's Low Quality Ad is for this Darth Maul Lightsaber, on sale for 40% off.
Originally, Star Wars Episode 1 was supposed to have a huge twist where Darth Maul turned out to be Jar Jar Binks with facepaint on. The creators scrapped this idea because they are cowards.

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.

The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.

Happy Black History Month.

A large CAVA bag stuffed with what it says is $50,000 for White House Border Czar Tom Homan.

It’s been reported Homan took bribery money when he was recorded by the FBI accepting a bag full of $50,000 in cash.

When a whistleblower’s lawyer gives you a deadline and cites the statute, that is not posturing. That is the last stop before Congress. And they just pulled the trigger.

Apparently the doctor laughed for a solid five minutes.

I have no memory of it.
My wife @stinapag.bsky.social was having “girl surgery” (her phrase) in ‘21. The doc called me back looking a bit worried. He pointed to the exposed urine bag and said they’re seeing a reddish hue but can’t explain why. It took me a minute to remember she’d had beets for dinner. Good times!

as soon as you become a political correspondent in America they take you into a little room in the White House and hit you on the head with a mallet until you lose the ability to retain long-term memories.
After Trump tells NBC News he could maybe use a "softer touch" on immigration, we immediately get the "different tone" narrative from CNN.

Brianna Keilar: "A change of tone for the president. Softer touch."

David Chalian: "He acknowledged learning something that this requires a softer touch."

I'm reading the transcript from the hearing where the DOJ lawyer asked for contempt, and I'm realizing the same approach the AI companies took with copyrighted material is being taken by the government re: deportations.

We can't follow the law because it slows us down and is too expensive.
