Dude, I'm a multi-decade Burner, and I made Barry the Disco Goat. He's getting a whole damned barnyard full of friends to dance with on the playa.

I'll also fund a dozen other large scale pieces on the playa and regional burns every year for a dozen years, so long as no tech firm is involved.

When Pusch broke up with Nguyen and hooked up with Wynne, I was curious what would happen to the Brokeback Mountain billboard.

I’m not mad about this.

Usually they just walk into the room without fanfare, but they CAN do the Odelay leap if called upon.

But Celosa is newly 17 and Fusilli is pushing 13 so I don’t call it upon them very much anymore.

I chatted with a restaurant owner who is closing shop in December. He said 75 restaurants have closed in Houston this year so far. All cite declining business. His has been open for 40 years and still gets rave reviews.

I mean, we have a lot of restaurants, but it feels like a lot are closing.

Here is Fusilli right after I trimmed his nails this morning.
November 10, 2025 at 3:42 AM
Success! Nails are considerably shorter, and now Fusilli’s big dilemma is whether to chew the whole bully stick now or hide it somewhere.
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Fusilli’s nails desperately need trimming. He got a claw caught in a cord last night.

This time I’m prepared. Two kinds of clippers, treats, and styptic powder just in case.

Wish us luck.

In those days, no one cared if you climbed on the ruins. There was even a chain down the middle to hold on to. But no other safety measures. The stairs are ridiculously tiny. But I made it to the top!

Post you from a different era.

In 2011, I came in second in the Grilled Cheese Invitational (Kama Sutra division) in Austin, for a sandwich featuring mozzarella, basil, roasted garlic whipped butter, hearts of palm, fresh basil, and wood oven roasted tomatoes on a homemade ciabatta also baked in a wood oven.

My favorite of their very excellent billboards came up right after they announced they were back together.

There was another with them in bed together.

Turns out it was all a lie!!!

A little late, but K. made a Jack O’Lantern. He designed but outsourced the fabrication.

I have a longstanding “no cutting into pumpkins until after I’m pretty sure the a/c is off for the year” policy. I’m not 100% sure we’re there yet, but a pre-schooler with a vision is hard to argue with.

This is the kind of joy going on in our household today.

He had a great time handling out candy! And he loved the house.
November 1, 2025 at 3:34 AM
Some of our neighbors are terribly creative. They build candy luges from their balconies. The trick or treaters were delighted.

For @evilgalprods.bsky.social. This was K’s first Halloween. He was almost 8 months old. (costume change from a party that weekend to Halloween night)

(((Hugs))

K. is ready for Halloween! He originally wanted to be Super Grover. Done! And also a firefighter. Done! And, this week, a ballerina. Done!

He was ELATED when it all came together this morning.

Watching him run around with a tiny pirate on the playground after dropping him off at school was a joy.

Texting the family chat with costume options on hand, since we're gathering here for Halloween. My dad LOVES handing out candy to kids, and this will be his first time seeing our house since it was completed. He might want a costume.

Fusilli and Celosa were gracious enough to model the options.
