Recently I've been spending some time with pro-democracy leaders from other countries organizing against national strongmen. Their stories of organizing against authoritarians are eerily familiar. Among the many clear takeaways: stand up to bullies and go on offense because defense doesn’t win.

Students from multiple St. Paul Public Schools walked out of class on Wednesday to demonstrate against the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis. They marched to the Capitol for a rally on the building's steps.

A recent article by Prof. Ronny Reich in the journal Revue Biblique examines the strange pottery flasks common in Early Roman (“Late Second Temple period”) Judea.

These are wonky vessels.
And they are found almost exclusively at Jewish sites in Judea proper (they rarely make it up north).

Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

Let's talk about the AI bubble.

I am a computer engineer with specialty in AI. In 2006, when I went out to work, I believed that the problem of over-training limited the usage of neural networks and something new has to be done to make it work.

It turned out, you could just add more layers.

A economic bubble is when people invest more into something than they can ever get out. It means, they put their money into a black hole.

The AI bubble is a bubble because that money is never coming back. It's an investor scam.

When the bubble bursts, people lose their money. It's that simple.
Microsoft CEO says AI “risks becoming a speculative bubble unless its use spreads beyond big tech companies and wealthy economies.” Brother you’re the one building this dogshit, we’re three years and hundreds of billions in, how have you not worked it out?

I think people are misunderstanding today what democracy and intellectual means:

1. Democracy is not toothless. In fact, we jail and kill people every day. We have weapons.
2. When you are an intellectual, dictators do not believe you won't make any resistance. They always go for the kill.

Democracy isn't complicated:

If you decide what to have for dinner and there is just you having dinner, then you get 1 vote: Your own. You win every time.

Dictatorship is when somebody else decides what you should have for dinner, even they are not the ones eating it. There are no votes.

It should be standard practice to boycott and harras any company or organization that employs, pays, or does business with any member or former member of ICE. Hiring even one should equal corporate death.

Remember, it is not normal for masked men to kidnap civilians.

If you do not ever get used to it and get horrified by it, then it is not because something is wrong with you, but because you are still sane.

I think it’s worth asking again — and seriously — what exactly do we have a 25th Amendment for if not for this?

I've updated one section on the page for The Ouroboros Hypothesis on The Century of Satire project, because I thought it was unclear.

I want to explain how a transition of a calendar from 13 to 12 months can be used as a conversation starter, for people who convert others to their own beliefs.

People who see their loyalty to a demented man as justification for bullying, gaslighting and murder, are not serious people.
