Going out to cut the tree has been my favorite part of Christmas for most of my life (having cut on the Gila, Lincoln, Lewis and Clark, Boise, Caribou-Targhee, Flathead, and Lolo national forests). This year we went to an area that burned a few years ago, so lots of trees at just the right height.

Instead of a late Fall day approaching Thanksgiving, yest could have been a Spring day. Both Grand Targhee & Sun Valley (a first in their 90 yr history) report will miss opening of ski season on Thanksgiving Day.

I got to hang with Todd backstage at Targhee once, and I would just like to state for the record that the dude could put away more weed than was humanly possible. And then....he walked on stage and just killed it - top of his game. Wildest thing I ever saw. I could barely stand up.
