And done. We didn’t have contests for delegates (we were a bit short for both state senate district and city delegates) and only had 5 or 6 resolutions.

It’s near the end of the month and people need help with rent (it’s hard to work if you’re scared to leave your home, or if your hours are cut because foot traffic is down). Please contribute to a mutual aid fund.

And it is still #WIPWednesday . Details in the alt text. #Knitting #KnitSky 🧶

I haven’t posted for #WIPWednesday in a while because of the terror campaign ICE has been running in my city and state and it seemed frivolous.

Read Naomi’s blog post below for ways you can help and prepare yourselves.

If you want details on the #Knitting , they’re in the alt text. #KnitSky 🧶

The way folks in Minnesota have formed networks to support their neighbors is awe inspiring. If a politician or political party asks for your $ to help “the people of Minnesota,” instead, send a few bucks to an org here: www.standwithminnesota.com . And still #SundaysAreForSpinning #Handspinning 🧶

Can someone explain to me the nuanced difference between a consultant and a strategist?

Fellow Russian bots, repost with an obscure proof of life in MN.

My knitting at the State Fair, and a 100-mile hiking club patch.

I’ve had some weird USPS package movements the past couple days. One of as initially tracking for delivery yesterday, made it as far as St. Paul, and now is in Philly. The other, initially tracking for delivery today, made it to MPLS before diverting to Sioux Falls.

@slotkin.senate.gov How about you don’t send generic fundraising requests to residents of Minnesota right now, and pass the word along to your colleagues. Instead, do something to stop this invasion!

For no particular reason, this bit from Blue Mars (by Kim Stanley Robinson) comes to mind: “People in the streets, that’s the only thing governments are afraid of. Well, or term limits. Or free elections! Or assassination. Or being laughed at, ah, ha-ha-ha!”

The source is unverified, but if it’s true, maybe this is why there’s a desire to do a big push tonight to “wrap things up.”

Time for my annual review of my yarn and fiber stash. It’s a good time to take stock of what I have, make sure I don’t see any signs of pests, make plans for the coming year, and set aside anything I no longer want to trade, sell, or donate. #Knitsky

#FOFriday : I finally finished my Biscuit Slipover (by Bridget Zhou), which I started for a makealong with a 31 Oct deadline. Yarn is from a brown Cormo named Hershey who I met a few months ago. #Knitting #KnitSky🧶

#WIPWednesday : I finished the stockinette body of the sweater (still need to do ribbing), started a DK weight sock that was supposed to be a gift for my husband last year (I gave him the yarn), and after calculations started a project for me. Details in the alt text. #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶

#SundaysAreForSpinning : yesterday I washed all the plied skeins from the @mellyknits.bsky.social Delightful fiber advent, and I’ve been spinning a project dyeing #DashelThroughTheSnow . #Handspinning 🧶

The dog has learned I’m the clumsy cook. I used leftover Christmas ham to make šunkofleky. It’s a baked Czech dish with noodles, egg, and ham that my grandmother made. I grew up just calling it fleky (and pronouncing it “fleech-kee”), but I’ve learned that’s just the name of the noodles.

#FOFriday : i finished the knitting a while ago but dragged my feet on weaving in ends, washing, and blocking. I didn’t feel like doing a photoshoot, being firmly in goblin mode on Boxing Day. Yarn and pattern details in the alt text. #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶

I took the photo yesterday, but didn’t get around to posting it g for #WIPWednesday . The dark brown slipover was drying after being washed, so I brought the other projects to it. The stocking was finished in time to be used last night (though I intend to add a lining). #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶

#SundaysAreForSpinning . I have days 7/8 and 9/10 of the @mellyknits.bsky.social Delightful Advent plied, and yesterday I combed and blended the @fossilfibers.bsky.social Quiet Sip blending club from October. #Handspinng #FiberPrep 🧶

#FOFriday : I bound this off in August, wove in ends in September, blocked in October, and dragged my feet on taking photos, so these crappy ones are what you get. Pattern is The Crown Wools by Casapinka. Yarn is Tanis Fiber Arts Purewash Sock from last year’s 12 days of minis. #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶
