was playing nfl2k5 against my friend last night and had a game where I went 15/272/4 with marshall faulk so I like to believe I have caused this.

This may be clouded by memories of playing NFL2K5 way back when. I had a roommate who liked to abuse the Eagles by basically having McNabb shake his first tackle or two and then just chucking it to Terrell Owens who was basically 100% guaranteed to "get open" with enough time after the snap.

My problem with competitive games like fighting games, is when I really like them, I become obsessive and sink so much time mastering them that I get too good for my friends, then nobody wants to play anymore... from Monopoly to SSF2 to NFL2K5 I have lived through this too many times. Heh.

I think the single most infuriating thing to watch on defense in football is when you think your team has the quarterback wrapped up and he scrambles for a first down instead

NFL2K5 is 21 years old.
That means the Madden-opoly has now been in effect for two decades. As you’d expect, it wasn’t so bad at first… but as time has gone on, the quality of the games has plummeted.
Without competition, there’s no need for quality.
Sadly.
