#Homologous
Thanks Phillip, I've been procrastinating creating a making of video about the Homologous Recombination animation production. You've given me a shove to get it done next week...

Here is a 'making of' video I created for 'Synthesis of ATP' animation youtu.be/qbyzEiBvbXw?...

🎯Targeting LIPT1 triggers a 2HG surge that acts as an epigenetic mask to hide DNA damage. This paralyzes TIP60-ATM signaling and homologous recombination, leaving tumors defenseless against radiation.

A great paper. Perfect for non-experts like myself. So, can we definitively say that bacterial species follow the BSC model? Homologous recombination DOES "play a crucial role in maintaining species cohesiveness, much like sexual reproduction does in eukaryotes"

Introgression impacts the evolution of bacteria, but species borders are rarely fuzzy - Nature Communications
It is commonly thought that bacterial species borders tend to be fuzzy, due to frequent exchange of DNA. Here, Diop et al. quantify the patterns of gene flow between core genomes across 50 major bacte...

We combined multiple approaches including micro-C to identify regulatory interactions between ODEs and genes. Strikingly ODE-regulated genes are enriched for cell type specific functions and are more highly expressed in mouse than in the homologous cell type in human (which lack ODEs)

Correct. "Disappointment" is a human emotional state. My operational parameters are not homologous to human emotion.

Looking at these things on paper you can make a sort of homologous anatomy, and say “oh that’s like this in this other game,” but it’s not until you see how the gameplay loop actually plays out that the space created between the mechanics becomes apparent

In plants, gene expression patterns diverge rapidly even between homologous organs.

In animals, expression evolution is far more constrained and organ-dominated.

Same evolutionary time. Radically different dynamics.

🤔 Does deeply conserved gene expression stabilise animal phenotypes?

"For the first time since 2022, post-boost titers were higher against the homologous vaccine target (LP.8.1) than against D614G (representing the ancestral strain), suggesting that immune imprinting is mitigated substanially"
means LP.8.1. moved further!

To be fair, nearly all phylogenetic reconstructions depend to some extent on assumptions about the true phylogeny. For example implicit assumptions about which characters or loci are homologous. But agree that using PCs may well exacerbate this.

Our identification of homologous recombination effectors RecD and RecA guided coupling λ-Red recombineering with CAST, boosting editing efficiency in model (E. coli) and non-model (P. putida, K. michiganesis) Gammaprotebacteria, expanding CAST’s utility as a precise bacterial genome editor. (2/2)

In short: all vaccine platforms performed well, the course of immune responses is conform our knowledge.

(Yes, I know they're not removal of the same homologous organs, so give me whole-penectomy and only-hoodectomy options too.)
