Finally finished my portrait of #Encanto's #LuisaMadrigal, partially inspired by @RaquelWWE.
My biggest bit of news. After several queries, requests, and cycles of ups and downs, I'm happy to say that THE HOUSE ATE SOULS, my Golden Girls x Encanto's casita but evil adult horror romance, has found a home with Apprentice House Press and will come out in Spring 2026! (More to come later)

My biggest bit of news. After several queries, requests, and cycles of ups and downs, I'm happy to say that THE HOUSE ATE SOULS, my Golden Girls x Encanto's casita but evil adult horror romance, has found a home with Apprentice House Press and will come out in Spring 2026! (More to come later)
So far there's only a new, untitled Disney animated feature scheduled for that weekend. Especially given that WDFAS hasn't had an original theatrical hit since the first Moana in 2016 (the closest they had was Encanto's second-wind success on streaming) it seems they're sniffing blood in the water.

I might say the same thing with Sing 2, even though it’s a lot more successful than Encanto’s theatrical run, especially when it became the first animated film after the pandemic to cross $100m domestically. But that’s because Universal doesn’t focus on streaming a lot as much as Disney.

It was good to see Luisa (with Mirabel) from Encanto at Disneyland. It was a nice surprise to see her character spotlighted during World of Color as well.

It was good to see Luisa (with Mirabel) from Encanto at Disneyland. It was a nice surprise to see her character spotlighted during World of Color as well.

And that’s the biggest problem. Disney was too focused on promoting Disney Plus during Soul and Encanto’s debut. It’s the biggest reason why their films from Lightyear to Wish bombed in theaters and the only successful Disney/Pixar film they had after Turning Red and before 2024 was Elemental.
