In the fourth, he’s using a term from the book used against Lolita to refer to a real life girl.

A short erotic fiction (part 1 of 3): A massive deathclaw lumbers out of the billowing smokescreen of wasteland dust. With a deep, throaty growl it's upon you in a moment, towering and intimidating as can be. Taken by surprise, you fall on your back in shock, cowering in front of the beast. You know to try and flee would be futile. It crouches over you, its musk hitting your nose, smelling like spicy sandalwood and sun-baked rock. Its fearsome body blocks out the sun and buries you in shadow. You close your eyes and turn your head to the side, expecting to be violently ended in an instant. You know all too well what these things are capable of. The desert around you fades away and you hear nothing but the wind and the gargantuan creature's breathing, its hot, pungent breath ruffling your hair. After a long moment nothing happens, so you open your eyes with a grimace, expecting the strike as soon as you're able to see it coming, as if the predator was waiting for you to watch it swipe its claws across your throat. But the deathclaw is merely looming over you, threatening but idle; statuesque. Its huge arms and armor-plated thighs are like four tree-trunks marking the boundary of your hunter's prison. It's so powerful. You know it could crush you in an instant; tear you apart like tissue paper. But it seems to only be studying you and your gear, its little eyes scanning down your prone form as you lay beneath it like a worm at the talons of a robin. You can almost see the gears turning in the beast's mind. It lifts one hand-like paw, those deadly namesake claws catching the sun. You wince. Now it's surely going to disembowel you, and there's nothing you can do about it. (Part 2 of 3) But again, to your surprise, the creature is almost gentle with its daggerlike implements as it brushes the great claws carefully over your well-worn vault suit, bandolier, and belt. You inhale sharply as a claw catches and punches through your suit but somehow leaves your soft abdomen unharmed. Like a hunter gutting his prey, the deathclaw draws its finger up along your torso, splitting your suit in two, then back down to complete the incision, baring your sweaty body to the dry air. Your belly trembles as the dangerous claws circle over your skin. You meet the beast's gaze, its alien pupils boring into you with feral sentience. You don't know if the deathclaw is being playful, or even if it's capable of that - but your human predilection to anthropomorphize wants to label this behavior as such. Your nipples stiffen in the breeze as the deathclaw slices through your leather straps and belt and finishes slitting your blue suit open, freeing your hips and thighs from the mangled fabric. The beast growls lowly, the rumble deep in its throat almost sounding like a purr. It seems pleased with itself, like it'd scored a bag of candy and had just peeled it open to feast. Your heart was racing as you felt one of those claws brush over the sensitive skin on the inside of your thigh - right near the top, so titillatingly close to your burgeoning arousal. The fear coursing through you is still there, but it's mixing with something else now, morphing into an anxious thrill. It's been a long time... and this massive killer's gentle restraint is stoking a fire in your mind and body; a need, swirling into your fear with a tempering alchemy. You inhale the deathclaw's scent and relax back fully onto your elbows. (Part 3 of 3) You're not kidding yourself: you were already at this predator's mercy - but you give into it now, accepting the sway it holds over your life and your tingling warmth. The bright sun blinds you for a moment as the looming shadow's eclipse moves, the deathclaw snuffling its huge, fearsome head lower. You feel puffs of its hot, irradiated breath over your sternum... then your navel... and finally your groin. It's sniffing you there. Oh god. You stifle a moan as you feel its moist muzzle alight upon your crotch for just a moment, the lightest of skin-to-skin contact that's gone as soon as it began. Its heavy, smoothly plated horns straddle your waist as the beast's breath pulsates slowly over your most vulnerable place. With a needful sigh you lay your head on the ground and close your eyes, your legs spreading as you surrender yourself wholly to the beast's curiosity.

“Hey, big boy,” I teased. “I’m right here. Not running. Just a helpless soul open for attack.” I furrowed my brow as the next growl reverberated. It sounded more like a house creaking in a storm. The shuffling resembled something large shifting across carpet… My pulse quickened and I sat forward as I looked around. Whatever was out there, it had to be huge. I wanted to hold onto the hope that I could affect the environment around me, but the more the growling became creaking, the more I feared I’d completely misunderstood what was watching me. I was certain I’d felt a shift in the atmosphere, though. Something less threatening — something more curious than murderous. “Hey, I’m just having some fun,” I said as I swallowed down the anxiety. I stood from the chair and stepped forward, my phone still in my hand. My head jerked up as the lights flickered. And then I saw it; one of the walls rippled ever so slightly. Was the place itself alive? “Holy shit,” I mumbled as I spun around. Another deep creak came from behind me, and I noticed the dead end had moved closer. Yeah, the place was definitely alive, and I was being watched by something on a cosmic scale. I tried to calm my racing heart. It still didn’t feel threatening, there was no sense of danger in the air. It was terrifying, of course, but my theory of being connected with the environment was proving to be true; I could sense that I wasn’t in danger. It truly did answer to the psyche of the person who was present. I noticed a mirror had formed on the wall beside me, and I approached it after slipping my phone back into my pocket. It was made of intricate silver and full-body in length. When I touched the surface, it felt oddly warm. The air had grown a bit warmer too, and when the lights flickered again, my reflection had gone out of sync with my body. “Whoa, that’s trippy as hell.” I stared at my own face, but it reflected an expression of curiosity that was somewhat primal. Its eyes looked me up and down slowly as if sizing me up, and when I moved my arm, its own movement that mirrored mine lagged a few seconds behind. Was it sizing me up? I cleared my throat and put on a grin as I put my hands on my hips. “Getting an eyeful? Be careful how you stare, I might think you’re coming onto me.” The confidence was feigned, but I wasn’t about to show it that I was nervous. It didn’t look like it was sizing me up for an attack anyway, so it was probably safe to screw around. Probably.

My favourite Dickens anecdote - sadly, a huge exaggeration of events - is that when the final instalment of The Old Curiosity Shop' (1841) was arriving by boat at New York docks, crowds jostled each other and shouted at the sailors hoping for spoilers about the ending.

On the Arab side, there was no rejoicing. Every one of the Arab delegations at the UN voted against partition, rejecting a Jewish state even if it was created along with a Palestinian Arab one. Violence erupted the next day. An attack on a bus near Lydda, near the road up to Jerusalem, left six Jews dead. Similar attacks occurred around the country. Shooting broke out in mixed Arab-and- Jewish towns and cities: Jaffa on the southern edge of Tel Aviv. Safed, Tiberias and Haifa in the north, and in Jerusalem. I followed all this with curiosity and trepidation through my halting attempts to read Davar le Yeladim, the weekly children’s edition of the Labour Zionist newspaper Davar. We children felt an additional connection with what was going on. One of our Dror housemates, a boy named Giora Ros, had left the year before when his father took a job in Jerusalem. As the battle for the city raged through the end of 1947 and into 1948, its besieged Jewish residents fought for their lives. We sent our friend packages of clothing and food, which we saved up by eating only half of an egg at breakfast and smaller portions at dinner. The mood darkened further at the end of January 1948, four months before the British departed. A cluster of settlements known as Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem near the hills of Bethlehem, also came under siege. Around midnight on January 15, a unit of Haganah youngsters set off on foot to try to break through. They became known as “The 35”. Marching through the night from Jerusalem, they had made it only within a couple of miles of Gush Etzion when they were surrounded and attacked by local Arabs. I used to live in Croydon, where the MV was rumoured to be filmed. There was a huge fire there during the riots in 2011, and a 144 yr old family business was burned down. Out of curiosity, I looked up the date it happened on swift lore (8/8). That day, she was papped shopping at a mall.

A huge upturn in interest in witchcraft emerged during the 1500s in Europe, but by the middle of the next century - at least among the cultured elite of Florence - a backlash arose against the many accusations of sorcery. Artists and writers explored the topic more out of curiosity and amusement, chief among them the poet, painter, and satirist Salvator Rosa, who examined witchcraft with gusto in numerous poems and works of art, including these four paintings. They show a range witch types - from the beautiful enchantress to the old crone to the male sorcerer - and represent activities commonly associated with black magic - levitation, love potions, devil worship, the invocation of demons, and transformation. Transformation was a common subject in Italian art of the 1600s, usually seen in interpretations of myths based on Ovid's ancient Latin text, The Metamophoses. Rosa found a novel way to exploit this idea, drawing attention to his own ability to transform paint and canvas into a disturbing, nightmarish world.

Out of curiosity, I Googled to find out the largest stadium in America. It’s in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan; it holds 107,000. It’s huge, and then you add in the surrounding area for parking, etc.

Consider the logistics of building this monstrosity on the WH lawn, creating…. 1/2
