It’s really hard to focus on how stupid Canadian political discourse is when American political discourse is being so loud.

I am alarmed to learn that former UN Special Rapporteur, world-renowned Professor of international law, and Jewish American citizen, Richard Falk, along his wife, legal scholar Professor Hilal Elver, were detained at the Canadian border for four hours.

What would a 100% Canadian social media platform look like?

The team at @gandersocial.bsky.social is about to find out. By giving Canadians control over their data, their feeds, and more, they’re hoping to offer a viable alternative for American social media.

The Dust Bowl was a period of severe dust storms that greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the American and Canadian prairies during the 1930s. Drought and a failure to apply dryland farming methods to prevent wind erosion caused the phenomenon.

Ted Cruz is not a Canadian. He was just born here to an American & Cuban. While he did get birth citizenship, he gave up his Canadian Citizenship a while ago. Also he left Canada before he was 3.

That peice of shit is all American.

Even Canadian suburbs are much more dense than American. I don't own a car and live in a walkable and very dense neighbourhood, but it's a streetcar suburb of Toronto and not actually walking distance to downtown.
Put differently, if America had European "style" suburbs, much of the debate on affordability and density would not exist as it does today. That's how much of an improvement it would be at face value. It would immediately solve entire housing crises in at least several key regions, if not all.
This is true but glides over the fact that what passes as a suburb in e.g. England or France is already anywhere from x3-x5 more dense than their American counterpart. You are comparing things that are categorically different and are thus irrelevant to the American context lol

I was watching a UK Interior design show this morning. The designers were redoing a lodge. One designer was thrilled about his gorgeous "American" blanket. Nope this is the MOST CANADIAN blanket. And even though an American company bought and destroyed the Hudson Bay Co..the blankets live on.
