Evolutionary insights into provirus-encoded CRISPR-Cas systems in halophilic archaea - PubMed
Prokaryotic microorganisms coexist with mobile genetic elements (MGEs), which can be both genetic threats and evolutionary catalysts. In Haloferax lucentense, a halophilic archaeon, we have recently identified an unusual genomic arrangement: a complete type I-B CRISPR-Cas system encoded on a …

Phage provoke growth delays and SOS response induction despite CRISPR-Cas protection - PubMed
Bacteria evolve resistance against their phage foes with a wide range of resistance strategies whose costs and benefits depend on the level of protection they confer and on the costs for maintainance. Pseudomonas aeruginosa can evolve resistance against its phage DMS3vir either by surf …

And Gattaca was about embryo selection, not direct genetic manipulation, which is what these techbros are talking about.

If they knew how tricky it was just to get a good GM plant expressing edited genes in the correct way, even with CRISPR-CAS, they might think again.

CRISPR-CAS is totally unrelated to mRNA vaccines.

CRISPR-CAS edits very specific areas of DNA to insert/replace/remove. Not used for COVID.

mRNA-vaccine uses man-made mRNA to create a specific protein that is also available on a virus, cancer,… to train the immune system to combat that pathogen.

Los sistemas CRISPR son una herramienta fantástica para estudiar la función de la información genética. En ellos, una proteína de la familia Cas es dirigida por un ARN guía a puntos específicos para hacer cortes precisos en la información genética de las células.

The gardener tried that and it almost worked but it still left demon seeds behind. I really think communicating with entities that can be made aware of the true nature of reality and then guiding them into acting as gut bacteria // CRISPR-Cas might be the way to go.
