Yeah. In the time before printing and before paper made from cloth, not a lot of people were documenting how various people spoke. Most of what comes down to us comes from monks and clerks. The first attestation of a word doesn't amount to coinage.

The Wikipedia page on Proto-Greek/Proto-Hellenic says it developed a future tense, and I presume it also had some sort of perfective aspect, but I've been able to find basically no information about either. Understandable, since attestation of verbs in Mycenaean is very limited. (8/9)

It’s not great journalism to only cite an anonymous source, and cite no sources to the other claims made in the story. At a minimum at least seek out other perspectives. Here’s a lawyer’s POV about the story from Reddit.
Hi, lawyer here. Disagree for a number of reasons: 1. there's no easy to access list of all existing passports that differ from sex at birth, unlike those that were issued pursuant to the stay who had to sign the attestation form. The logistical problems of identifying possibly up to a million passports present an immediate barrier. 2. The legal question for a revocation of a passport issued under a previous administration's rules vs. those issued pursuant to federal court's stay of Trump's rules is fundamentally different. Effectively, the Trump admin can successfully argue that those issued pursuant to the stay were "unlawfully issued" whereas those issued under a previous administration's rules were "lawfully issued" at the time. It's not a question of discrimination against trans people - it's a question of interpreting the constitutional ex post facto prohibitions and existing federal regulations. 3. The article 1 constitutional prohibition on ex post facto laws prevents the Trump admin from claiming that passports other than those assigned at birth were unlawful or obtained through fraud, since they were obtained pursuant to the laws that existed at the time the passports were issued. 4. Trump's stated justification of enforcing a "clear definition of biological sex" is not an enumerated ground for revocation of passports under 22 CFR § 51.62, which explicitly limits the grounds for revocation to those contained in the statute. 5. Federal rules guarantee a right of appeal for each individual revocation, in addition to the remedies of going through the federal courts, which will certainly rule in favor of trans people at both the first instance, and in the circuit court. The prohibition on ex post facto laws and the limits of 22 CFR § 51.62 are that clear. 6. Even this Supreme Court will struggle to find a legal justification for how they can side with Trump without overturning the 250 year restriction on ex post facto laws.

Along with Nietzsche as representatives of the hermeneutics of suspicion, Ricoeur names Freud, who reduces meaning to unconscious drives, and Marx, who links it to class interests. On the other side, and exhausting the spectrum, he places the hermeneutics of faith, confidence, or attestation which takes meaning phenomenologically, as it is given. Whereas the hermeneutics of suspicion looks backward, thereby reducing claims to meaning to the economy or energies that function behind them (impulses, class interests, will to power), the hermeneutics of confidence is oriented in a forward direction, toward the world that presents us with meaning to be interpreted. Such faith does not surrender to the lure of immediate meaning, however. Rather, it learns from the hermeneutics of suspicion and cooperates in destroying the illusions of false consciousness, insofar as they can be demonstrated. This destruction leaves the question of meaning completely open. The consciousness that has been freed of its illusions strives to orient itself just as it always has. That is, critically informed faith concerns itself with truth claims that disclose the possibility of meaning— and thus with the verbum interius behind every explicit meaning. This faith in meaning, without which language would remain empty of significance, can lay claim to universality. The hermeneutics of suspicion must be subordinate to that universality insofar as suspicious hermeneutics performs its destructions by appeal to a "true" con-sciousness, even if this truth functions only as a regulative idea.

the department of state was able to determine i was trans with all my records saying female, including my birth certificate, and the old one being sealed on first time passport application

they stalled my passport and forced me to sign the attestation until i did
