#AMPUTATE
My cat once dislocated his tail (I suspect in the LitterRobot). I only knew because it hung limply when it usually wagged 24/7. The vet said they sometimes amputate if it’s going to cause them chronic pain. Cats are tough as nails.

I hope you and Mrs. Kitty are pain-free ASAP! 🙏

Or do you mean further back, when Marley chose to cover up his melanoma rather than amputate the toe? If so, yeah, he thew away 70-80% 5-year-survival odds.

But Jobs threw away 90-95% odds - some sources list survival rates for his cancer, if treated timely, as "approaches 100%". Just nuts.

they actually asked me in the ER if I’d slept on it funny, and then told me if I hadn’t come in when I did they’d have had to amputate it, it’s not just the hat man talking nonsense as usual

hi from “if I sleep on my arm funny, I might get another weird clot and they’ll have to amputate it”
if i unclench my butthole my insides might fall out, and other miscellaneous 3AM worries

"Amputate her frozen feet, then she'll never need slippers again" -- probably what they'd suggest next since there's no bottom to their evil

The rehab facility unfortunately had to amputate his right wing which led to his non-release status. Since he came to us in 1999, he has helped us educate countless students, families, and community members about the importance of vulture species for our local ecosystem and beyond!

An anatomy professor tells his students that a frog's legs are its organs of hearing. He places a frog on the lab counter and yells, "Jump!" and the frog jumps. Then he uses a scalpel to amputate the frog's legs and yells "Jump!" again. The frog doesn't jump, proving that a frog hears with its legs.

Contemplating a weekend that contained a lot of FAMILY! DRAMA! (Mainly my sister). I return to my uncle, a wheelchair user for the past 50yrs, casually dropping into the conversation "Aye well, the Dr says if this knee infection doesn't clear up, they'll be wanting to amputate my leg." Yikes, John!

Gold and chains are gonna get rusted up like this gal! I was gonna paint her as an Iron Warrior like the rest of the MKIIs, but my wife reminded me that those guys amputate chaos corruption, so renegade successor chapter it is

BoyfrIend: "I got hit by a car today. Paula brought me to the hospital. They're doing X-rays. I have some broken ribs, a broken arm, a fracture of the left leg and they may have to amputate my right foot."
Me: "Who's Paula?"

Okay few more deets. The reason we were asked is because the initial shelter intended to simply amputate a leg for an injury a more skilled vet said would only need some screws and plates. We’ve been sheltering him for about 3 weeks but this week instead of two people in the house constant there-

Dismaying. This is the rot, in all its horrid glory. Its time to amputate this sickness, or else.

She has to wear the splint for a month. If it keeps on dislocating after that, they’ll amputate it. Sometimes the ligament stretches out and can’t hold it in place anymore. But step one is the splint 🤞

I think it'd be very cool If I were allowed to amputate my arms

She was running when it first happened - maybe caught it on something. Then the ligament can get stretched out and not hold it in place anymore. She’s supposed to wear the splint for a month and then if it still isn’t staying put, they’ll amputate it.

Reminded of how the lore that Star Fox pilots amputate their legs to accommodate the high speed velocity of Arwings was a Western localization thing and when Matpat asked Shigeru Miyamoto about it directly he had absolutely no idea what the fuck he was talking about
The entire fandom’s (and Retro Studios) initial assumption: “Oh she hunts down the baddest monsters in the galaxy and gets paid for it, right?”

Nintendo: “What? No. She’s like humanity’s motherly guardian. What are you talking about.”

I had never heard of Body integrity dysphoria (BID)—a mental disorder where someone believes they need to amputate a limb or become blind/deaf

Above the Knee is a glimpse into a man that believes his left leg is rotten. It’s a slow burn character study that had me hooked from start to finish
From the director of Good Boy (2022)?!? #NowWatching
