i think that people who use headphones in public places like trains are selfish. keeping all your cool music and podcasts to yourself is genuinely sociopathic and deranged behavior. play it on your phone's speaker and let everyone enjoy it, or don't play it at all

The claim that “emissions have come down” in this @nytimes.com @sominisengupta.bsky.social article on where we are ten years post-Paris is FALSE.

Global emissions were at an all-time high in 2024.

As it stands this claim is misinformation. They need to issue a correction!

To understand how Bari Weiss might approach climate coverage at CBS, I read every climate article the Free Press has published.

Almost every one reinforced a common fossil fuel industry talking point—that climate change is exaggerated, that solutions don't work, and that fossil fuels = freedom
Bari Weiss vs. climate change
At The Free Press, Weiss consistently rebrands tired fossil fuel talking points as courageous, rebellious dissent.

I legitimately didn't know they were competing with Steam and it's crazy to me that they burnt so much money on what sounds like something with very little (or wildly misguided) market research.

Our gorgeous girl Chai is full of surprises! Even though she’s a mature Phidippus Regius Bahamas and hasn’t moulted, her chelicerae have changed from pink to this stunning iridescent purple! 💜 🧵 (1/2) #jumpingspider #cutespider

This is so sick!
When the asteroid struck, much of the world died. Burnt wood, bone, and ash scattered under darkened skies. Fungus spread over the decay, lives that also fed surviving ants. Ants who began to farm the fungus, inventing agriculture long before we did. I’ll tell you more at Smithsonian. #InvertFest

INLAND EMPIRE - There is also a *fourth* thing you've lost.

YOU - A... fourth thing?

INLAND EMPIRE - More precious than the gun, the badge and the motor carriage *combined*. Lost forever. Into the deepest of seas.
