ICYMI — “I identified myself as a U.S. citizen and a veteran, but that didn't matter. ICE Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray into my car, dragged me out… this experience violated the very principles I fought to defend.”

I think often of the time a bunch of murder victims’ families showed Trump treasured photos of their loved ones and he signed them
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

As it ends at 723pm, some will hear the tragic Manchester news for the first time.

At that time, please join many of us to send a message of solidarity to British Jews. Thanks Together coalition for proposing.

they're not even bringing a knife to a gun fight. they're bringing one of those joke guns which fires out a hankie reading "Bang" except it doesn't read "Bang" it reads "he's right, vote for us", this metaphor doesn't work at all I know I'm just really fucking mad okay
Keir Starmer’s spokesperson asked for the PM's response to Nigel Farage’s plan to deport hundreds of thousands of people living and working completely legally in the UK, replies that he thinks it is “unworkable” and “unfunded”.

So his objection is that they’ve got their sums wrong

Reform's ‘plan’ to revoke the legal status of millions of UK residents is morally abhorrent & economic madness

The public believe in fairness & mutual respect, not this cruel Trumpian policy that would leave us all poorer. We are not America - we must resist this dangerous turn in British politics.

Reform and X are not Britain, as John Curtice shows, though this loud minority voice thinks it is

Migration bad for economy?
32% of public - but 73% of Reform

Bad for our culture?
31% of public - 81% of Reform

Rights for ethnic minorities have gone too far?
18% of public - but 49% of Reform

'The racists are right'-strategy of Starmer & Co is both politically stupid and profoundly ethically bankrupt. We need a robust defence of multiculturalism, and a reiteration of the humanity of people seeking asylum, not whatever the fuck this is
Oh nothing, just the actual Prime Minister telling people they’re entirely correct to drive asylum seekers out of their communities

Elon Musk is a radicalised extremist openly championing the most racist faction who would deport the Foreign Secretary, the Leader of the Opposition, the Justice Secretary and the last Prime Minister

The govt silence about such a level of extremism is craven: infinite tolerance of racial hatred

A very powerful essay by Holocaust scholar Omer Bartov, arguing that:
a) Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, and
b) denying this threatens to "undermine everything that Holocaust scholarship and commemoration have stood for."

Even if "white British" will be a minority in the UK in 40 years - so what? Seriously, so what? What is so terrible about that? Make people spell out their horrors. Make them spell out the things they are supposedly not allowed to say. Make them own it.

Gaza. My friend, Nabil, in Gaza is increasingly desperate, his messages filled with anguish. He’s lost hope. I don’t know how to reply/ what to say. The West looks away as their “ally”, the ME’s only so-called “democracy” commits war crimes every day. Our leaders are complicit/blood on their hands.

The idea of 'the fair go' and a deep anti-elitism are both pretty embedded in the Australian ethos - even our 'Tories' have to appear to honour these things. So Albo's rhetoric is not directly transferrable. But surely a version of this is the only viable way for Labour to move forward right now?
