With the Senate’s inability to move a health care plan on Thursday, the pressure for Republicans to act is likely only to intensify. Don't count on that to change anything.
Concepts of Health Care Plans → Humiliation Trying to Pass Them
They still haven’t figured out this health care thing. Don’t hold your breath.

I support Dems not because they will ever be the "savior" from authoritarianism. But because the party as a whole can be bent away from right-wing authoritarianism that currently & actively harms the country daily. Disappointment is inevitable but the strategy is simple. Autocracy is the #1 threat.

No one is stopping investigations from taking place, no one is stopping a law that says if a website or company online continually is found to be a portal for abusers to find victims that it can be prosecuted... nope, we're just going to make the internet less free and open. @democrats.org wtf.
Sen. DURBIN: The threat is accelerating, and the numbers tell the story. What are we going to do about it? Now’s the time to address online child exploitation. America’s children cannot wait any longer.
December 13, 2025 at 1:49 AM
KOSA will not protect children, it will only erode the internet to be a space less safe for free speech, privacy, & information availability. @democrats.org @housedemocrats.bsky.social @democrats-judiciary.house.gov are simply empowering fascists and authoritarians to commit more atrocities legally.
Sen. BLUMENTHAL: Parents don’t want speeches. They want a law. The House has weakened the Kids Online Safety Act that would prevent abuses and impose a legal responsibility on Big Tech. It’s a disservice to parents, children, and victims.

Reckless, and absolutely assisting evil in doing evil. @whitehouse.senate.gov @judiciarydems.senate.gov @democrats-judiciary.house.gov If you help or allow this to pass you will have single handily assisted authoritarianism to rise even higher. The fact you think this is rational is terrifying.
Oh. Cool. Just as the President is using every power he can to suppress dissent and stifle speech, @whitehouse.senate.gov and the @judiciarydems.senate.gov are trying to hand Trump a new tool to suppress speech online.

What a joke.
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

Trump on Americans' healthcare costs going up by 200-300%: "Don't make it sound so bad"
Q: At the end of this year, those extended Obamacare subsidies expire. What's your message to those 24m Americans who will see their premiums go up?

TRUMP: Don't make it sound so bad. Obviously you're a sycophant for Democrats. You're obviously a provider of bad news for Republicans.

David Ellison appears to be mortified that CBS/60 Minutes is “going rogue” by covering the news and by keeping him “in the dark” about a segment critical of Trump.

Because Ellison doesn’t realize that’s how it’s supposed to work.

Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

If this man and his friends believe so strongly in price shopping during a stroke then surely they will be willing to make this the staple healthcare offered to themselves, their employees, and their families, right?

Thinking of that time when my dad, himself a doctor, was thrown by a horse on a trail ride. Punctured his spleen, internal bleeding, got him to an ER just in time. He lived another 20 years. With two hours delay, probably wouldn't have.

We rushed to *nearest* ER. Not comparison-shop for ER prices.
