NEW: ProPublica has found multiple cases of women with underlying health conditions who died when they couldn’t access abortions.

Tierra Walker, a 37-year-old mother, was told by doctors there was no emergency before preeclampsia killed her.

Few things bug me more than higher ed leaders saying that we lost our mission and lost the trust of the public, when we have actually been the target of a decades-long smear campaign by the right wing that worked. The moment we’re losing our mission is right now, in capitulation.

Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

“Today we stand in a moment that will decide whether our government belongs to the American people, or to those who prey on them.”

At least 30 individual or corporations who have given over $116M to Trump and his super PAC have received regulatory favors from the Trump White House.

That includes Big Tobacco companies, Pharma giants, and crypto moguls like the Winklevoss twins.

Pay-to-play corruption.

Out of the three colleges I’ve attended, two had a president step down because of sexual misconduct during the time I was connected to campus.

Larry Summers is another reminder that part of why universities respond so badly to sexual violence is because there are powerful perpetrators within them.

If judges understand that shadow docket orders are hardly worth the paper they’re printed on, they can be less constrained by the reckless decision-making of the Supreme Court.

Taxpayers paid $103B for stock buybacks for Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics & Northrop Grumman over the last decade.

They donated to politicians who bought their stocks and gave them contracts, then both made money.

Elon Musk shows you what is wrong. He's the world's richest man, getting vastly richer every day while he does nothing but spread hate and division on Twitter

But it's not Elon Musk that's the problem, it's the system itself which rewards such parasites and needs to be destroyed

I’m looking for a good contemporary novel. I’ve been reading a lot of medieval poems & sagas and realized I’d read hardly any recent fiction this year. I love a book that’s a bit cerebral, a bit strange, and tells a solidly plotted story with a minimum of fuss.

Shaming caregivers over untied shoelaces while the government is letting 1 in 5 kids go hungry is insane. Also doing this while children are still carrying the mental weight of a global pandemic… while prices keep rising and wages ARE NOT… While corporations price-gouge every basic need… WILD.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

Democrats blinked. Again. Six weeks into a GOP-made shutdown, they folded without securing ACA subsidies. Republicans saw the collapse coming and instantly pivoted to abortion. Now they're trying to extend Hyde to private insurance.
