If your city is next, mutual aid and neighborhood watch networks are the most important things to scale up, but whistles are a great tool to get people taking the first step.

Today I learned that Lincoln Park high school is about half the size of Lane Tech and has 40% more Black students than Lane does.
This came up in a conversation about how media coverage of Chicago's current political situation is still locked into some outdated ideas about race in this city.

Abhorrent people who should go to hell
ICE grabs father by the neck—send him into violent seizure while his arms lock up around his toddler.
"He's having seizure and they're trying to rip the baby out of his hands!"
Agents then handcuff him—before putting in ambulance with his child.
Mother is detained by agents as target of arrest.

IMO this is a really good move if the city can make it happen.
Mayor Brandon Johnson plans to buy downtown bus terminal, plan shocked local alderman
A mayoral spokesperson said Wednesday the city expects to spend just north of $19 million to purchase the bus terminal, with the rest of the funds expected to go to refurbishment.

Waking up to news that a daycare worker in my neighborhood was kidnapped after ICE followed her inside the private business where she works.
The work to defeat fascism is immediate, urgent, and supercedes the electoral cycle.

Our little group of bar regulars and random guys will wind up supplying nearly 14,000 whistles to Chicago during the month of October.
I just organized some resources for whistles if anyone wants to DIY an event or join forces with my whistle event team.
We could use support with 3D printing whistles! I’ve got files, donation links, and a sign-up sheet. Also a link to the zines if you need it!
