with the ventra outage and celebration for the skyline extension, chicago and honolulu will overlap in free bus and train service between 9 and 11 am this saturday

it’s poetry night

the dependable damp-rid is a perfect fit
for my plundered treasures and ill-gotten gains

remembering my cook county townships gingerbread cookie

Green icing was used to show the boundaries of each township. i love federal plaza splash pad 🥰

photo of the car shop behind the flower bed at pullman national historic park. it’s been arsoned so as a brick building it’s worse for wear photo from the path on its east side of the pullman admin building. this brick building has been restored and special pretty bricks were used in its construction. the front door, a modern glass pair of accessible doors, is surrounded by the buildings brick arch going over the entrance to cottage grove photo of the replica seats used to demonstrate the actual seats in cars made at the pullman shops. original seats used imitation mahogany, too. these seats sit in an exhibit that emulates the wooden interior of an intentionally luxurious earlier car. and has projection lit windows simulating the country side in which pullman cars ran inter city trips photo of the two types of bricks used in exteriors and facades of buildings at the pullman site. both are porous brick but one is rougher than the other, which is designed smooth for facades
