It should be a rule when referring to a billionaire to give a relatable ratio;
1 million seconds is 11 days. 1 billion seconds is 31 years 8 months.

I think we would be horrified by billionaires if we could grasp just how much money they have.
This is a truly glorious episode. Everyone will be better for having listened.

Just in from two SF No Kings events (Ocean Beach and then a colossal march and rally downtown). So many good signs, so much devotion to justice, liberty, human rights, and Jesus lord the one part of the US economy that must be booming right now: INFLATABLE critter costumes.
This is what democracy looks like. #NoKings

As you attended No Fascists (how I brand it) events today, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Timothy Snyder's On Tyranny. It's outstanding and something you will keep referring to over and over again.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

It is at redshift 0.19 (lookback time 2.41 billion years) with coordinates (150.70876, 2.66422).

They never truly expect a long-term resistance movement because they think people are a collection of trauma triggers who are easily controlled through terror.

I've said this before, but I feel pretty strongly that the building of concentration camps - and now, the inevitable disappearance of 1,800 people from those camps - is the biggest story in American public health right now that isn't being treated like one

Yuuuuup. Also, I don't give a shit if some of the worst people in the world think I am being performative or am virtue signaling. Fuck 'em. They don't get to tell me how to be.

Anyway, trans rights are human rights, y'all. It's not complicated.
To my fellow cishet dudes: when we are quiet about supporting the trans community, the only voices anyone hears are the Charlie Kirks of the world. Don't let accusations of being "performative" or "virtue signaling" shut you up - that's their whole point. Our voices are needed now more than ever.

I'd guess that their metrics don't capture a few imp't items at @dalhousie.bsky.social . E.g.
👉% of staff & faculty who donate to the university (likely high pre-lockout)
👉research publications / # of students (def. high)
👉total faculty pay / # of students (little change in a decade)
