This was so crazy, then it left the news cycle almost immediately as it arrived…
Remember when downtown Nashville got blown up on Trump's watch by a Q-adjacent guy who believed the 5G towers were controlled by lizard people? That guy shoulda stuck it out I bet he could have gotten a gig on an HHS advisory board now.

You could replace a lot of CEOs with Ai and nobody would notice…a lot harder to do with an average employee though.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. A day dedicated to nothing but spending time with loved ones, food, & gratitude. We all could use more thankfulness. Thanksgiving is what Christmas should be
If you wish you had somewhere to go but don't, come to lehi. We'll have turkey & potatoes waiting for you
Holidays can be amazing. A time of love and happiness

They also can be very hard. Death, divorce, distance, & tons of other things keep us apart. If you're alone on Thanksgiving & wish you weren't, you're welcome at our house in Lehi. We're doing lunch at noon. We'd love to have you. Reach out

This is something I tell kids whenever they want to get into IT, sometimes you have to actually understand the user because they will circumvent even the most complicated implementations.
Connection to the users and their desire paths is the most important path of working in security and nobody goddamn does it. You are gonna make compromises. And they're all gonna be worth it. Because you understand what they want and you're gonna deliver it and they're gonna stop doing stupid shit.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Trying to explain tape trading of shows to kids who grew up in the streaming era is…complicated and they just look at me like I’m an idiot. Like ya man…we used to have to abbreviate stuff to PYITE and just know it meant: Punch You in the Eye. We only had so much space…

I have tried to use copilot to write emails for me based off notes from meetings and…well…it’s complete shit for the most part. It takes me just as long to edit the output than it does to just do it myself.
I reported a few months ago that in August Microsoft had only 8 million active paying users of Microsoft 365 Copilot. So tired of his company! Wow you’re gonna have 220 million paying subscribers, crazy, are you going to conjure a genie too? How about a dragon? Fantastical bullshit

I wrote up some thoughts on the place of class, identity, and left organization in NYC's election for the @hammerandhope.bsky.social newsletter:

Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City mayoral race overturns the destructive bipartisan consensus that identity politics are simply a dead end.

This is something that drives me mad, I have always talked about the invisible world around us that people don’t see…the world that staves off tragedy from happening. The people who lived before these systems existed are long dead and we have forgotten the world without them.
I think my big one was Y2K; I worked for YEARS as part of a team making sure medical systems and hospitals didn't go pining for the fjords.

And then hearing it described as a 'hoax' by smarmy Zoomers is just... ugh.

So, this seems really bad for Trump then…an innocent person wouldn’t fight this hard.
One reason you hold a meeting to pressure/cajole/threaten Boebert in the Situation Room is so she can't record it.
