Democratic leaders hope history rhymes. Schumer thinks the Senate can flip, with an expanded map including Trump states like North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Texas, Florida, Alaska plus Susan Collins' Maine, etc. (Betting markets give them about 1 chance in 4 to net 4 seats).

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.
As a Black Hawk helicopter roared overhead, the slender, 28-year-old immigrant from Venezuela answered softly, his eyes darting to a television crew invited to film the raid. Next to Caicedo, masked Border Patrol agents inspected another man’s tattoos and asked him if he belonged to Tren de Aragua, the Venezuelan gang that the Trump administration has designated a terrorist group. Until that moment, Caicedo’s only interaction with law enforcement in his two-and-a-half years in the United States had been a traffic stop two weeks earlier for driving without a license or insurance, according to the records we reviewed. Chicago police had run a background check on him and found no prior arrests, no warrants and no evidence that he was in a gang. Caicedo said he had a pending asylum application, a steady job at a taco joint and a girlfriend whose daughter attended elementary school across the street. None of that mattered. The U.S. government paraded him and his neighbors in front of the cameras and called their arrests a spectacular victory against terrorism. You know a country by its values. By what a country values. And it turns out that what a country values can change over time. Sometimes, though, there’s a sort of cognitive delay between the country you think you are in, and the country you’ve actually become. For example, you can keep selling yourself, to foreigners, as the country of William Shakespeare and Jane Austen, and luring busloads of tourists to Stratford-upon-Avon and Bath, and put a statue of George Orwell in front of the BBC, and imagine yourself a cultured and literate nation, which the rest of the world admires for its devotion to the written word – but if you then chronically underfund your cultural institutions, and treat your cultural workers with contempt, many people will suspect you of being full of it. And as the decades pass – and fewer and fewer Shakespeares and Austens and Orwells emerge from your little island – even more people will begin to suspect that in truth you do not value culture at all, and are in fact running a giant heritage museum in which the only cultural workers you respect are the dead ones.

The meme of "my body is a machine that turns 'the passage of time' into 'not writing'." This is a joke about writing and how so much of writing is not writing— or at least, that's what I tell myself when I am avoiding writing, which is a big part of my actual job. I mean writing, not *not* writing. Bosses: do not look at this, especially if you are expecting something from me soon. Obviously, everything is going great. I am not procrastinating by making this meme. I am not deliberately wasting time in every possible way I can think of after already having made breakfast int he most laborious way possible, catching up on email and slack messages, engaging in some discord discourse, and checking every social media feed I have the misfortune to remain entangled with, and I fully intend on starting to write for real the moment I hit the button to send this tweet. Yes, I still call them tweets. It's an act of resistance at this point, calling them tweets. I remember there was some discussion of what to call them, and I have to say I did laugh about "skeets," since the act is comparable in some ways: it feels good in the moment, but results in something useless and gross just moments later... is this too much to get into here? I don't know if the wrongheadedly censorious people who run this platform even check descriptive alt text, come to think of it. Anyway, I should get back to writing, for real, which I will do now. That reminds me, did you catch the discourse the other day about dialogue choices in games? I don't have much to say, really, other than that creative works can be literally whatever you want them to be, so arguing about them isn't as productive as simply making the work you want to see in the world (and which I'll get back to doing in just a moment). If you want to see my approach to dialogue choices, why not play my visual novel, Eliza? If you've made it this far and haven't yet, I suggest you check it out. Okay, back to writing for real now. Definitely.

From it's noonday throne, Rolatudan drove every dockworker into the shadows with it's oppressive radiance and the air writhed in agony as it's scorching fury punished all it beheld. Only the marauding winds of the open saltlands broke the stillness, spilling over the natural harbor's sandstone walls to strain the suspensors of every landship and violently flutter the colorful banners that claimed the ancient stone structure in the name of the Manati Commonwealth's seven ruling clans who sheltered in the underground city below.

Oh, so he totally stole the money
The U.S. Supreme Court was given the wrong numbers. The “unwind” in the event of a negative decision on Tariffs, would be, including investments made, to be made, and return of funds, in excess of 3 Trillion Dollars. It would not be possible to ever make up for that kind of a “drubbing.” That would truly become an insurmountable National Security Event, and devastating to the future of our Country - Possibly non-sustainable!
