Trying something out. This is me describing what surprised me about Naked Lunch. It's a clip from episode 2 of Right Where You Are Sitting Now, my podcast series on William Burroughs. When Bruce Springsteen sang "at night, we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines", he was talking about people who log on to LinkedIn after 6pm to write fanfiction about how good they are at their job.

nothing more mysterious than Alan Moore dialogue when you can't tell if he's being facetious or completely half-arsing it.

the quote by your man was such a transparent attempt to hype his novelizations that you should all be ashamed of engaging with it on face value for the sake of five favs. Anyway, they should do a really, really morose and self-serious take on james bond jr but oddjob should still look like this

solidarity to anyone who experiences the idea of "christmas" as an ever-intensifying neon sign that reads "time to kill yourself", feels like it starts strobing earlier and earlier every year.

bsky.app/profile/ktho... Decades of feigned bashfulness while living nerd fantasies (ie owning trinkets), mythologizing even his most tertiary friendships and getting paid to be told he's special yet he'd clearly be much happier if he'd kept original Clerks ending, made nothing else and taught film.
are you prepared to experience the most cursed comic book page ever printed?

Went to a book signing this evening but the guy signing books is staying in my house so I opted to get a different, pre-signed book instead. Only posting this because it's a top tier signature, a rare instance of a favouring a marker over a pen improving a signed book.

Never thought anything would top Disney video game Epic Mickey in terms of a children's entertainment brand name with unfortunate connotations in certain locales (here that means 'Wonderful Penis' to the uninitiated) but it hit me that some scottish parents had to hear their kids worship 'Mr Beast'.

Hadn't realized nine and dex had returned, thought the fake Timberlake song (which I liked!) and it's big suit video had finished them off as a prospect. Suddenly there's five new videos, every single one jammed wall-to-wall with a very specific kind of baffling punchline.
