Just heard about the news out of Queensland. Hormone therapy, from puberty onwards, is safe, rigorously evidence-based, life saving medicine that results in higher quality of life, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and a direct reduction in deaths for trans and gender diverse people.

We can no longer pretend that the mouth is somehow separate to all other aspects of health.

If Labor is after a big inequality-busting reform commitment for the election, time to include dental in Medicare.

And who cares if they're 'stealing' a Greens policy?

This was no minor error. The numbers he cited were ten times higher than the actual figures.

Mr Paterson has developed a pattern of speaking with tones of great authority while uttering words which are simply wrong.

THIS. WILL. 100%. KILL. PEOPLE.

This will kill infants, children, teens, women, men, and the elderly.

This is beyond evil and abhorrent.

This is mass fucking murder by way of slow, torturous, painful death.
Genuinely horrifying.

20 million people receive HIV antiviral treatment from the program annually.

Mothers with HIV would transmit it to their infants at birth if not for perinatal antiviral treatment.

This should be resumed as soon as possible. Every day of delay means more lives lost.
This is a public health nightmare in the works.

Nobody voted for this.

PEPFAR’s computer systems also are being taken offline, a sign that the program may not return, as Republican critics had hoped.

I think a lot of people have mutual aid confused with charity on here, maybe because folks most often see it in the context of fundraiser asks (which are great!).

I want to talk a little about what it looks like in everyday life.

Because we need it more than ever. Government is getting shredded.

Protests work when they issue a believable ultimatum. A protest has to convincingly say: "This is us deciding to be civil. We can and will use these numbers for something far worse unless you change now." Protests and more drastic action are two halves of the same revolutionary coin.
Reminder that protests work because they're a symbol of the power wielded by the people acting in unison.

You can have as many protests as you want, but unless the politicians are viscerally afraid of you on a personal level, the protests are liable to achieve little.

Amen.

If a guy can't find the clit, he def can't choke or tie anyone up safely.

If a guy can't be nice to a girl when she's anxious & says stuff like "you're so dramatic" or "you're too sensitive", he is not trauma informed enough to engage in that kind of power exchange.

Don't fuck these guys.
One day, we’ll have a conversation about how so many dudes are suddenly claiming to be Doms.

No classes, no munchies, no readings, no mentors, no first aid training - just vibes.

Death of the Author is a framing device for analyzing works and doing critique.

It is NOT pretending the author doesn't exist, especially when that's not how art works.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
