Ed Davey has been the most vocal supporter of the BBC since the outcry over the Panorama edit, whilst Farage has used the incident to bash the BBC and suck up to Trump.
Perhaps now is the time to stop platforming GB News Presenter Farage and give fair political coverage to the Lib Dems and others.🤔
Trump wants to destroy the BBC and Farage is egging him on.

To all those who love the BBC, now is the time to speak up.

We so wanted this government to be good. But where the Tories were deliberately and malevolently terrible, this Labour government just seems incompetent and impotent.

This is pathetic, really.

I don't see such an obvious swerve achieving anything politically. A ragtag of small taxes gobbles up attention and kneecaps purposiveness. It increases vulnerabilities, including a 2026 rerun. The leadership remains on borrowed time. Nobody becomes happier.

This is beyond me if the PM and his chancellor can survive this budget and pull of a credible cost and spending plan without angering voters, angering parliament, breaking other policies or causing shock to the market. Does the chancellor know what she is doing?

Apology is enough for Trump to prove that the BBC admit wrong-doing hence reason for him to call on the BBC to pay-up. This is capitulation.
So basically, BBC hopes apology will be enough.

“Lawyers for the BBC have written to President Trump’s legal team in response to a letter received on Sunday.”

By resigning over this matter he has laied down his sword and caved in. Davie isn't committed fighting for the BBC and it's journalists otherwise he wouldn't have stepped down and resigned over this matter. It's unfortunately cowardice to capitulate when under pressure. If the BBC accepts Donald
Tim Davie in all staff meeting: "We are a unique and precious organisation, and I see the free press under pressure, I see the weaponisation. I think we've got to fight for our journalism. I'm really proud of our work, and the amazing work locally, globally, that we're doing is utterly precious."

It's shocking but no surprise Maitlis is bragging about the work she did to harm trans kids, and Sopel is pouring petrol on the fire. This isn't journalism. It's bigotry and stupidity.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump makes the decision to ban BBC from the White House press conference room and effectively ex-communicates the BBC.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

The BBC is not an American institution it’s a sham to allow the President of the United States to interfere with a foreign media’s executive leadership. This is a sham to British free press independence and democracy. Davie has failed to defend the principles of the BBC.
The BBC rightly called out
WHY does BBC care what Trump has to say?
Wowser. BBC Director General Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness have resigned following criticism that a documentary misled viewers by editing a speech by President Donald Trump.

BBC News is a total mockery and joke of the institution it is.
