The final part is an explicit call to MPs, highlighting how people are being put into medical retirement, to fund research to gain some ability to provide meaningful care and therapies.

"We can't turn back time, but we can change the future". 🎯. Thank you @binitakane.bsky.social

Excellent presentation made by Dr @binitakane.bsky.social
to the APPGs on ME and #LongCovid.

We are fortunate to have a Doctor who understands the problems, sees the need for change and can communicate so well.

Also some strong new thinking for #pwME.

Can anyone think of any other situations where one might be indoors, with little fresh air, close to other people, for long periods of time and with someone infected with covid? Homes? Schools? Offices? Hospitals? GP surgeries?
This BBC piece 24/2/21 shows we knew then but still UK IPC guidance does not reflect airborne transmission with RPE such as FFP3 respirators.

Victorian diseases erysipelas and scabies return to the UK.

Poverty, malnutrition, poor housing are the main causes.

Govt response - benefit cuts for poor/disabled, two-child benefit cap, winter fuel payment cut, freeze tax thresholds.

NHS queues, can't see GPs.

Must redistribute.

I’m finding it very hard to understand the stance of the Royal Society here. Science is part of society, not separate from it, existing in some strange metaphysical bubble. I look across the Atlantic, aghast at the damage being done to science and scientists.

You don't want to catch Covid again.

Long-term sequelae from repeated infections can be brutal.

It's a vascular disease which affects every part of your body.

Even an apparently mild case can do untold damage.

Nobody should pretend it didn't happen, or that it's over.

Because it's not.

He boasts about being a sexual predator, he's been accused by 25 women of rape, harassment or assault, a jury found he "forcibly and non consensually penetrated Carroll's vagina with his fingers," he supports banning abortion.

But he hates trans people and so the Times calls him "a feminist hero."
