2) didn't totally panic when planning got disturbed and GP phoned for a rescheduling of a planned appointment
3) the GP wasn't really worried and she referred me to a neurologist. Good I think

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

Seen my GP. She wasn't particularly worried, but wanted to see me before she left for a while. (The automatic system had only let me book a locum).
She did refer me to a neurologist, both for the tremor and the eye thing.
Waiting time should be around 30 minutes.

I’ve written a piece on the curious lack of media and political interest in the issues faced by our national @britishlibrary.bsky.social. This is strange given we live in a world where ideas, knowledge and research are a long-term source of innovation and insight

The British library is in crisis: why does nobody care?
The widespread indifference to the British Library's crippling cyberattack demonstrates a perilous failure to value the knowledge infrastructure vital for national prosperity

I had made an appointment with the GP to discuss the propapronol and its uselessness in stopping the tremors.
I also mentioned that my eye moved to the top corner now and again.
So today I got a phonecall asking me to come today instead next week. I was a bit hesitant (unwise?) so the assistant

Anyone living in our around Kirklees: please support a creative hub over parking
In Spring 2026, Kirklees Council will demolish city centre units used by creative community projects, including West Yorkshire Print Works hub and our textile reuse and recycle hub, Thread Republic. There is land that could be allocated for a new centre for us...

Very tired

Went to linocut today, I was still a bit woozy from all the extra drugs I had taken for the dentist yesterday. And the linocut was exhausting as well. (And I think the raise in propranolol also had an effect).
Anyway, no real option to go to bed yet, need to cook for the guests

Oh, I love this. A new species of sea anemone was discovered recently that parks itself on top of a hermit crab shell like a hat. It seems to feed partly off the crab's faeces, but it also excretes a hard shell that extends the crab's home. In return, it's carried around the seafloor like a king.

So, I am in the return metro from the oral hygienist.

She was really nice and friendly and said she would try to do whatever she could to make it as easy as possible. She took breaks every time I had to gag (every other minute or so) so it took a while. But I managed a fait bit of the routine
