i have some teacher friends and it’s pretty clear that the world/narrative folks had to create in order to accept and survive this “post covid but not actually post covid” world is ripping the fabric of our society into shreds. schools are where it’s most stark bc kids are a vulnerable population.

doesn’t matter what you call it, i can’t take the mold meds today bc my doctor forgot to prescribe more anti-vertigo meds. will be getting some OTC but i’ve already been a lil nauseous so i’m nervous how that will go (without it, the mold meds leave me bedridden)
is my mold medication “niche” or like what’s the word for a med that literally no one has ever heard of before…?

similarly for therapy notes — reflecting on what was said and how you responded/conceptualized it is an important skill and it’s not as anonymous or HIPAA compliant as the tech companies say. AI had 80% ability to de-anonymize notes.

getting formal accommodations for your disability should NOT inspire an existential crisis, but it does. like basically every single time.
i think bc our systems do not allow us to have autonomy over our own bodies. the accommodation process brings that to the fore

the coming rebuild/renaissance is the perfect time to improve the way we talk about public health and break free from the language of policing and moralization. (also, a big thank you to adia for educating me on this broader issue!)
I really hate ”patient zero” as an idea, i.e., when people use it authoritatively, and to allocate blame. “here’s the person who started it all…”
