if I can offer any unsolicited advice to multi parent households with small children, it would be this: adults should if at all possible get flu and covid jabs on different days from the other person

my biggest enemies are planned obsolescence and gerrymandering
Dear young people,

Once upon a time in America products were built to last and could be repaired. That’s why your grandmother’s washing machine, refrigerator and stove still work. Their shoes could get a new sole and clothes altered.
Yep, the before times.

“i trust myself to be able to navigate the situation i’m anxious about” is something i’ve been telling myself all week and it works for me

“The Nov. 8 Blaze News article claimed that it had pinpointed the woman after a review of video evidence and "gait analysis" software matched her walking pattern.”

Gait analysis is bullshit. It’s not bullshit in the sense of a high rate of false positives. It’s bullshit in that it is vaporware.
How an innocent woman's name was tied to the Jan. 6 pipe bombs
The FBI has ruled the woman out as a suspect in the 2021 plot, sources said, but only after her name circulated on social platforms and a conservative news site.

i really love being a therapist. and i hate writing posts like that bc i know this field can be just as harmful and oppressive as all other systems. and i want to build a world that is significantly less traumatizing and ideally where mutual aid and community remove the need for this profession* 1/2

Spent all day being so mad I forgot to take my blood pressure meds. A dangerous mix. Remember to take your meds and drink water and cuddle your pets! My dog gets anxious when I’m upset ☹️

A third infant in Kentucky has died of whooping cough this year.

Reminder: The best way to protect against whooping cough is to get vaccinated. Adults should get a Tdap booster every 10 years, so please check, you may be overdue!

this clip from season 9 of bad girl’s club (which i’ve never actually seen) is once again giving me the most supportive approach to some difficult interpersonal nonsense: staying confused but voguing it out. tysm, Erika 🤍

in 2023 when biden declared the end of the pandemic emergency response (and most folks assumed this meant the end of the pandemic), i said “in 2025, we’ll start to see the scientific evidence in our daily lives, but folks will still be able to look away.”

and i really hate being right about this
My friends’ pets are dropping like flies.

My friends’ hair is falling out.

My friends are getting stents put in.

My friends are enduring months of pneumonia, RSV, sepsis, kidney disease, eye shingles, new onset asthma, etc.

But they all say that Covid is over.

if the CDC does not walk back the misinformation, this does not mean we lost the war of misinformation

they are not the arbiters of what is true in healthcare

they used to be the authority

& it appears, may no longer

do not let their choice to sacrifice credibility diminish the truth we all know
