1/2 Here’s how it works:

BlackRock will structure loans to Ukraine, taking fees on every transaction

These loans will come with conditions such as austerity measures, privatisation requirements or favourable terms for foreign investors

Ukrainian state assets will be sold off at bargain prices...
why is the CEO of BlackRock at the negotiating table in Ukraine?
whilst the Black Sea burns, Larry Fink is drawing up the reconstruction contracts.

my wife and I raised $100K in 3 days to fulfill wishes for foster care kids simply by posting on here. Don't fall for the bullshit
btw i don't agree with folks who say posting here doesn't matter because every time i help organize an event, people show up in real life & tell me they heard about it here on bluesky

it absolutely matters if you make a habit of organizing & sharing practical suggestions of stuff to actually do

For decades, TGI Fridays on City Line Ave was a Sixers hangout.

Then, Allen Iverson turned it into a club.

He had his own booth (Table 70). He used a back entrance.

Former employees said he'd call after games to let them know he was on his way.

TGI Fridays on City Avenue was a longtime Sixers hangout. Then Allen Iverson made it one of Philly’s hottest ‘clubs.’
It was a chain restaurant in a part of town not known for being fashionable. Iverson and other Sixers legends helped transform it into a destination.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

“During days of torture and abuse, an Israeli soldier carved a Star of David into Ahmad’s back with a knife. Another soldier carved a smiley face into Nadia’s father’s neck.”

This happened *at a university* in Gaza.

And yet our institutions still collaborate with Israeli schools.

the economic success of the U.S. is significantly built on the land grant universities and in particular their excellent agricultural science tradition.
Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
