This is good. Laws should be enforced.

But the fine is less than 1% of the company's annual revenue. They could've spent more on the lawyers negotiating the deal than the penalty. 🤷
CCPA compliance is not a game. We’ve secured a $1.4 million settlement with a mobile gaming company for not giving consumers an in-app way opt-out of the sale or sharing of their data.

CA is committed to enforcing CA’s robust privacy laws — consumers must be able to exercise their data rights.

You can't go home again. But for me this is about as close as it gets.

We had our first date here. Became regulars over ~20 years. Celebrated just about everything here.

On my last visit four-ish years ago the bartender said, "You'll always have a place here."

He lived up to that tonight.

Our county budget blew up this year with $1.4M in unexpected expenses. The Republicans demanded we make cuts to cover the gap. The cuts would have triggered significant revenue shortfalls, making things even worse.

An incredibly frustrating conversation, though it ended in our favor.

#nhpolitics
People need to realize that government agencies facing repeated budget cuts have already trimmed all of the obvious and easy to trim fat. You can't assume there is more because Reagan assured you governments are inherently wasteful.
Portland: Highly damaging transit service cuts may be coming in the next year. Still no sign of a plan on how to prevent them.

No, there is not a lot of waste in the system; almost all service is justified by ridership or equity (we did that work).

Dubai Air Show Statement regarding today's crash:
November 21, 2025 at 6:59 PM
The best and smartest trip for me today was a 530a bus. But I didn't want to wake up that early (spoiler: I was awake anyways 🙄), so I booked a 1050a flight.

Mechanical delay. 🤬

And, because airlines, JetBlue ferried a working plane on the exact route rather than carrying the impacted pax.

Some residents of Hampton, NH have sued the Town, arguing its calculation of property taxes are "tantamount to extortion and being in violation of RICO."

Also wants an abatement where tax increased by more than the average. Which shows spectacular misunderstanding of how averages work.

Well, this turned out to be exceptionally weird.

The external mic has settings for the number of mic channels it records on. But it seems only one channel works. So depending on which wireless mic I was using connected to the receiver it behaved differently.

Bonkers, but at least now I know.
Anyone out there use an external USB-C microphone on an Android phone? And find that it stopped working with the update to v17?

Two Pixel 8a phones in our family. The external mic works perfectly on the one running v16 but no audio passes to the phone on the one running v17.

I'm stumped.

You're not heroes. You're assholes.
