Another soul weighed down by gravity. I love to think about RPGs and manga.

I have a background in political sociology, but I try to keep that off the tl. Here’s to hoping for a better world.

Made a new 3x3 for the sky.

Kept it to one title per series/studio. Titles in the alt text.

this only applies for people who like bad stuff, unlike me who only like the good stuff
You're allowed to like things that aren't good! It's not actually illegal and no one can force you not to like the not good thing! Just don't make it your personality or, I dunno, have a position of immense power and impose it on everyone else.

Fucking wild to start a legal statement about harrassment against a member of a minority group, by stating that you won't engage with the context behind said harassment.

Do I know any British people who can clear something for me?

Do UK courts not post their verdicts online, so you can read the actually assessment from the judge and not just the rendition by the media?

If shoegaze was a video game genre, there would be endless discussions about what constitutes shoes and/or whether gazing is a requirement

In the year of our Lord 2025, you still can’t take screenshots of the ending in P5R on PlayStation 4/5.

Tried to think of something truly useless:

The original PC version of Trails in the Sky didn’t have features like the monster guide and stuff.

It was only patched over from the PSP port by XSEED along with stuff like updated textures and widescreen support.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Great month for DS games tbh
Detective Instinct releases in just TWO DAYS! On Steam and Nintendo Switch 👍

If narrative adventure games that feel a little like something you might have played on the DS back in the day are your thing, don't miss it 👁️

In P5 there's a dating system (like an actual Tokimeki Memorial-type system, not just the social links), where you can hang out with your friends and invite them to different locations and give them gifts.

But if you actually know what you're doing, there's 0 reason to interact with the system.

I really wish social links would die as a design-trend in jrpgs. It simply doesn't work outside a proper life sim system.

Even Atlus can't make it work outside of Persona. It's easily the worst aspect of Metaphor.

Outside the novelty I don't even think it works that well in P3 and P4.

I like urban fantasy, but the rough part of writing a story in a contemporary setting is that it needs to *about* something contemporary.

Even if it’s involves vampires or dragons, they need to relate to something relatable. You can’t just write a fantasy story, but set in NYC instead of Narnia

My controversial opinion is that you have to finish the game for it to count as well.

Which sucks (I’m horrible at finishing games), but you need to have seen the conclusion to be able to see it as a whole.
Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions

Ask yourself this: Do you want this to be the future of your anime watching experience, forever? If your answer is no, then act on it! If you are a journalist or anyone with a platform, talk about this! If you know such people, urge them to do so! Use my article as base! Now, before it's too late!

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Lots of “well duh” responses here, but I found this to be pretty interesting:

Even if the quality of the information given is the same, just the process of receiving it from a prompt makes you less likely to internalise it.

Anyone who conceptualizes winter as [cold weather] has clearly never experienced not seeing daylight for months on end.
People who hate winter and hate the cold are exhibiting motherless behavior. nobody taught you how to layer your clothing? A skill issue! You were not destined to survive the winter! You shame your ancestors, buy a thermal knit shirt and some real wool!!!
i need all the "waaaaa i hate winter" people to shut the hell up because it's 91 degrees out at the end of fucking october and i need you complainers to stop manifesting the mass ecological destruction of global warming. put on a jacket while you still can

I think UC Gundam might have the best lore.

There's a lot of dates, events and fictional tech that nerds can dig into, but it's always secondary to the actual narratives of the shows.

It's cool when it gives context to a show, but if something is contradictory it's not a big issue.

I find these stories significantly less fun. Everyone should know that this is just trolling. Musk is not embarrassed by this, it’s not an L or some unintended fumble.

Every time someone shares Grok being unhinged, he wins. I would not know what Grok even is if people didn’t share posts like this.
oh my god i take it back, grok is amazing

Me being tired of getting recommended "lore videos" where people minutely describe everything that happens in a plot like it's not a story, but an amazon training video.
