Completely agree, but I think part of the reason for K-On specifically is that it’s “a show about nothing” in their mind.
It works as an archetypal apolitical media, where “it’s just fun” and doesn’t signal any moral or ideological standpoint. Hence the ease of it getting co-opted.

Lot of video game criticism is written by nerds who (for better or worse) know a lot about video games and not a much else.
It's always so refreshing to see someone who can actually pinpoint the cross-media influences. I had an inkling all the crosspatterns in KH3 was a contemporary fashion thing.

I'm guessing this is a really good fit for a handheld.
Everything is very snappy and responsive. Battles are really quick, so I could see this being excellent as a "I'll sneak in a quick playsession during my daily commute" kinda game.
