Another random thought - the first Paranormasight was also announced in a Nintendo Direct, but only in the Japanese Direct. The fact that this one made it into the English Direct really speaks to how strong the cult following around the game became in the west. Pretty cool!

I was very inspired by the first Paranormasight, which came out about a year into DI's development. The music really resonated with me; very much to my taste, similar to DI's approach (lots of acoustic guitar and piano). I'm so glad this team got to make another game!

With the announcement of the new Paranormasight sequel, I want to once again share this thread I made back in 2023 about the game's director/writer and his history with the adventure genre.
Today is the anniversary of Paranormasight's release back in 2023 on March 8th. This is one of my favorite Japanese adventure games I’ve played in the last few years so, to celebrate, I wanted to repost my thread about the career of the game’s director/writer, Takanari Ishiyama. 🧵

Especially odd considering Horii still asserts that player discovery is a core aspect of DQ that sets it apart from the more roller-coaster Final Fantasy approach. The HD2D games changed a few things in ways I didn't love, but this just doesn't sound like a Dragon Quest game at all 🤔
