I have such complex feelings about the TGA Expedition 33 sweep. It's deserving of praise and I even consider it my personal GOTY, but to have it dominate the "indie" category forced games like Absolum, Blue Prince and more importantly, Despelote to be measured against it. I think that is a problem.

"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions
the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

The MOTHER/EB subreddit has a serious issue with people joining just to complain about MOTHER 3 or lack or remakes and ports rather than contribute anything meaningful or creative to the fandom. It is honestly making me miss the old days when the fandom fed on each other's passion and spirit.

I've gotten into the hobby of tracking down worn out and cheap game boxes for my loose games. To me, the wear, scribbles and leftover labels tell a story. I find much more value in that than a pristine copy ❤️
