I always find this claim interesting because in 1900 about 2/3 of new yorkers lived in tenement buildings where a 325-450 sf apartment would routinely house 8-10 people
The free market kept manhattan affordable in the late 1800s and early 1900s
A fun thing about YIMBY dorks is that they are incapable of scrutinizing the hyper capitalist economic model that treats housing as a service that can only be solved via free market principles rather than a human right that may be at odds with endless profit and rent seeking

What books do you all recommend to someone (child or adult) just getting into architecture?

Do any of my beautiful and insightful followers have a copy of this on their bookshelf?

Charles Barnard, ‘The Magic Sign’ (ST Publications, 1993)

would reward you handsomely if you could scan or loan it to me for a spell

NEW: A deportation case exposes a rift among Democrats over how to take on Trump

One camp sees a pivotal moment to lean in and fight a lawless move.

Another camp sees a trap and wants to pivot to hitting Trump on his growing economic vulnerability.

Abrego Garcia's deportation case exposes a rift among Democrats over how to take on Trump

The ACSA suspended its bylaws to form a secret, unelected committee to review and advise it on our journal’s forthcoming issue on Palestine. After a year of bullshit that ended in the issue’s cancellation, we’ve exhausted our options for salvaging it. Our entire editorial board resigns.
