Unironically yes. They’re different in degrees and kind but they’re both terrible.
Whether it's Donald Trump pardoning the rioters who ransacked the Capitol building and attacked police on January 6 or Biden preemptively pardoning the people who Department of Justice employees who prosecuted the rioters to protect them from Trump's wrath, both sides have shamed our system.

I’m committed to posting on BlueSky because I do think it’s important for progressive intellectuals to hear from someone who is outside the left-most 90% of the population.

Something I see over and over again is a desire to unlock some semiotic key that will “disqualify” Republicans.

Man this is a sad day!!

For the People who don't know about India, this was slightly less significant like Obama becoming president but an important barrier being shattered nonetheless.

A common joke among Sikhs in the US, we're basically the black ppl of India.
Amazing pioneer of trade and industrial reforms in India. The 1991 reforms changed the trajectory of India's economy & the course of history, in many ways he was the Deng Xiaoping of India....

Echoes here of Ben Shapiro saying that Bad Jews plague America. These people covet white nationalist freedom to hate people like themselves.

A completely undemocratic and vile proposal. To take the votes of millions of Americans away just out of spite.

The time to do this was in 2021 or 22 or maybe even 2024 months before the election. To do it now is unconscionable.

Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now
Democrats need to take a stand against Electoral College votes for a person disqualified by the Constitution.

The idea that Musk went into politics to get richer makes no sense. He has more than enough money for personal consumption and as capital for enterprise.

He’s done it to gain more power and to change the wold to his vision through politics. The reason why anyone does it tbh.

There’s a universe where the Bitcoin strategic reserve is the top and the a quantum computing crack takes down the entire network.

Either way bullish for at least the next 2 years.

It seems like the UAP issue is breaking down along familiar low-trust/high-trust lines: conservatives distrust the government and fear-monger, while liberals are largely trusting of official sources.

As with many other populist issues, that seems like a mistake.

We have to completely stop reporting or talking about all mass shooters. No names, photos, manifestos.

Combat the memetic forces.

This is stupid. Trans kids will tell you theyre trans because of disphoria. Everyone else is the gender they’re born with.

Not a single politician has justified or defended the CEO murderer. This is how you know leftists will never have actual political power. They will just whine and complain. Good.

I don’t understand this. You can go vote!

Obama literally capped insurance profits to 15%

There are dozens of non profit insurers and healthcare providers.

It’s a constantly shifting field.

How is murder of an individual CEO an acceptable answer?
There IS no polite way to tell people to not use their bureaucracy to kill you. The only thing you can do is keep giving them their money and send appeals asking if the insurer’s “doctor” who found your cancer treatment medically unnecessary is perhaps an orthopedic surgeon.

I want to write about something very stupid that happened to me yesterday. I don’t want to do it in a self-serving way but I do think it illustrates a good point. As the pardon news broke I was asked a question about it and I didn’t have a clear answer so I just said I had to think about it.

Have we seen an NFL season with this little parity recently? 11 teams with 4 or fewer wins. 11 teams with 8+ wins.

If Dems want to do big fiscal programs like CHIPS, IRA, LPO again they’re going to need program leaders who are talking about them constantly in real-time. It’s just not going to work to operate behind closed doors and just assume the trust of the public (Jigar Shah was pretty good about this).

1/2 I’ve been thinking about the economic setup heading into the new admin as “tech bro subprime” because of the coalition of people who seem most excited about what Trump might do for crypto, VC/M&A, etc.

And that made me think about media platforms when housing subprime was unfolding.
