I'm really glad I moved to Canada in 2017.

Genuine question:
Can anyone explain why Surani & Solter are credited with discovering imprinting in 1984 when we already had evidence of parent-specific behavior of chromosomes & genes for >20 yrs? I assume they redefined "imprinting" to exclude prev. phenomenon, but can't find their justification.
