THERE IS TOO MUCH NEWS!!!
I like that they make these completely absurd suggestions as if moving is a zero cost proposition.
Bessent: "You know the best way to bring your inflation rate down? Move from a blue state to a red state. Blue state inflation is half a percent higher."

Wtf? The entire rise of Trump was driven by birtherism and an abject, racist hatred of Obama.

Sudden flashback to MANY years ago when I went with a group to see Penn & Teller and got picked to go up on stage to help seal Teller into a wooden box on stage, and while I was still on stage, standing right next to the box, he came walking out from the wings. To this day I don’t know it worked.

I’ve been slowly making my way through @leahsottile.bsky.social’s latest book on new age cults and there’s a lot of resonances between that and this article.

Meanwhile I sent the quoted post to my stepmom and she was like “I already do that!” So 🤷‍♀️
I'm sorry, but this the freezer of a serial killer
Also, tired of freezer jenga? Freeze anything liquidish flat on a baking sheet, then you can file it. Pasta sauce, soups, chili, etc. This is ~10L of pasta sauce.

The partner of a friend of mine told us how he interrupted some guy trying to bother a woman on the street, and how shocked he was that someone would do that, and we spent THE REST OF THE NIGHT rattling off stories about men being the absolute fucking worst. I think we broke his brain.
In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.

Ongoing problem of political consultants thinking they’re strategic geniuses because they hitched their wagon to a once-in-a-generation charismatic talent.

Carville and Clinton, Axelrod and Obama, and now Katz and Mamdani.
Morris Katz rapidly developing the problem where anybody outside of politics knows who the fuck he is.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, two leading American political journalists conspired to do or cover up catch-and-kill reporting during the 2024 election, neither has experienced any significant professional repercussions.

Hochul is the absolute pinnacle of the “normie moderate dem who has become completely radicalized* by maga” movement.

*complimentary.
On @allinwithchris.bsky.social Gov Kathy Hochul responds to Rep Elise Stefanik’s repeated assertions that Zohran Mamdani is a “jihadist”:

“She’s full of shit.”

the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

He’s a literal child 😭
there are about a million different incentives for Zohran to play this the way he did, it's very funny that there's basically no reason for Trump to behave this way except that 1. he loves celebrities 2. is obsessed with being liked in New York City and 3. was clearly charmed... and that worked
November 21, 2025 at 9:46 PM
the only thing that's going to be better than Mamdani absolutely owning Trump through sheer charisma is the absolute meltdown the worst people in the world are going to have about it.
November 21, 2025 at 9:48 PM
OK seriously what is going on?!
Q: Stefanik has called Mamdani a 'jihadist.' Do you think you're standing next to a jihadist right now?

TRUMP: No, I don't. I met with a man who's a very rational person
November 21, 2025 at 9:39 PM
OMG THIS WHOLE THREAD BUT SERIOUSLY.

I've said one of Mamdani's greatest strengths is that he *can't* run for president, so he's not threatening in that way to a lot of national pols, but starting to really wish he could.
Reporter to Trump: Would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani mayoralty?

Trump: "I would. I really would. Especially after the meeting, absolutely."

It cannot be emphasized enough that RFK, Jr. and the Trump administration believe that dying is preferable to being autistic. Kids will get sick and die. And autistic kids will face even more bullying and stigma as a result of what these eugenicist assholes are doing.

I’m not a shill, but I did buy the Parachute mattress in 2019 and it’s still pretty great six years later. Would absolutely get another one when this one wears out

(I made 3 purchases in 2019 that turned out to be great investments during COVID - new mattress, bigger TV and a fancy garbage can)

Also don't forget that the vast majority of the "prior convictions" category is, like, a DUI from 20 years ago where the person served their time/paid their fines and never got in trouble again.
NEW: ICE has finally released post-shutdown detention data. The latest data reveals that a full 40%(!) of people arrested in the interior and held in ICE detention have no criminal record; no criminal charges or prior convictions. That is up from just 4% when Trump took office.

Oh hey, now we’re back to having turkey day at our house, so really glad I didn’t drop $$$$ on an Amtrak ticket!
My parents four weeks ago: we’ll do Thanksgiving at our house.
My parents today: oh hey, we’re doing thanksgiving at aunt/uncle’s in Plymouth. You can just hop on Amtrak right?

Me: do you…do you know that Amtrak has dynamic pricing? And sells out? And it’s a holiday?

If you want to understand exactly why Gen X is so completely fucked up as a generation, you might consider that both this and the peak of the AIDS crisis happened around the same time we all hit puberty.
Tonight in 1983, more than 100 million Americans saw multiple thermonuclear weapons destroy Kansas City, Missouri, in “The Day After” on ABC. A.C. Nielsen Company reported that 62 percent of television sets that night were tuned to the film. I watched in my packed college dorm lounge. How about you?

we've got three years to not force this choice on everyone, the 'frontrunner' three years out is almost never the nominee (Jeb!), and yet we have people already demanding loyalty pledges from the most vulnerable of populations for the absolute slimiest dems.
After voting for a local candidate here in NYC who ran on an actual affirmative vision of the city instead of ‘no you can’t have nice things but maybe more cops?’, I’m extra fucking tired of people insisting we have to nominate the second worst people in the world in order to avoid the first worst.

We’re at the “fake deputy AG submitted a fake indictment” stage of things.
HUGE development IN hearing for Comey selective prosecution motion, It turns out that the grand jury NEVER saw the operative indictment. Whole separate basis for dismissal. Standby for more.
