98% of microplastic particles (MP) in bottled water are smaller than 20 μm, which are much more likely to get thru the GI tract to blood and organ tissue. Municipal tap water was higher in MP than 8 of 10 bottled water brands

New paper alert! We previously reported that early-life adversity is associated with an increase in perineuronal nets in human prefrontal cortex. This new study implicates microglia in this phenomenon. Special kudos to Drs Belliveau and Rahimian!
