I nearly started crying in my local bookstore yesterday.

I nervously asked if I could sign stock of my book when it comes in next week, fully prepared for them to say no.

And this angel bookseller said, “I *demand* that you sign every book.”

I know there’s so much pain in the world right now, but one of the families I supported during the wildfires is seeking help for a dear friend. Serena’s story touched me deeply, and I hope you’ll consider donating or sharing their GFM.

One of the biggest jump scares for me is when someone starts telling me that they loved a book and how the NYT bestselling author is one of their favorites…

…meanwhile, I ghostwrote the book they’re talking about and have to pretend I’ve never heard of it. 😮‍💨

I started reading Hamlet with my students. They clocked that boy from the very first scene.

Student: RIP Hamlet, you would’ve loved My Chemical Romance.

Hey all. So, unfortunately, the Technicolor closure news hits a little close to home. And by that I mean my spouse’s entire company has been dissolved and he and all of his coworkers are out of jobs.

Sort of in shock at the moment (considering we found out Friday and he was terminated today).

Amazon's changing the way the Kindle works on Tuesday, so if you want to download and de-DRM your books, you have until the 26th to get it done. I wrote a quick how-to, for anyone who is interested: next.content.town/p/kindle-drm...
The Kindle DRM Deadline is Approaching!
On the 26th, Amazon is disabling a feature that makes backing up your Kindle eBooks easy. You have a couple of days to download them before it’s too late

Yes. See thread below for resources. Measles has an R0 of 12-18. That means every person with the measles infects 12-18 other people. In comparison, COVID's R0 is about 2-3. **If you're immunocompromised, travel a lot, work w/immunocompromised people or work in healthcare, ask your PCP abt booster!
Measles is LUDICROUSLY contagious. You can catch it by breathing air in a room where someone who had it breathed a couple hours before. Mask up.
The Texas measles outbreak has spread to New Mexico.

Reminder that the measles vaccine is incredibly effective IF you get it.

Respirators work well too! There’s never been a better time to mask up.

As a girl with ADHD, audiobooks have been a lifesaver. I have been able to read so much more because of audiobooks.

And now, I get to listen to potential narrators for the audiobook production of my debut novel. I get to hear master storytellers read words that I wrote.

I am humbled and grateful to have our book drive work recognized by Los Angeles leaders! This would not be possible without the support of every donor, volunteer, and bookstore who jumped into action to support those who lost their libraries in the Los Angeles wildfires. Thank you all so much!
