Happy #BlackHistoryMonth!

What began as a simple reading list of forthcoming Black transfemme novels blossomed into a full critique of White supremacist publishing, Black literary erasure, and the supplementarity of the Black transfemme body as text 🖤
Black Transfemme Literary Springtime
2025 is the best year for Black transfeminine fiction ever. So why is nobody talking about it?

Strong statement from @govkathyhochul.bsky.social about the brutal killing of Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old trans man. Five people have been arrested for allegedly torturing and then killing him.

“There must be justice for Sam Nordquist.”

Women are a set of classes. Racial discrimination is a class issue. Queers, the aging & disabled & all others experiencing hierarchical oppression are classes within a social hierarchy. The working class is not the only class experiencing economic, social, or political oppression. It's not zero-sum.
anyway as i've argued before any class politics worth its name is not going to treat identity as an obstacle to solidarity but as an asset. "we all suffer in different ways under capitalism and the only way to relieve your particular suffering is to help me relieve mine and vice versa."

This fucking garbage. Violence, criminalization and loss of self-determination not to mention massive debt should never be the result of airing your feelings anonymously. Can't believe we pay for this trash. #988 #MentalHealth #SAMHSA

Four times as many callers to 988 as previously publicly claimed are getting visited by police or emergency medical services.

More #US #IndianRemoval #genocide #IndianBoardingSchools the EXACT same thing Trump's ICE is executing now STILL #JapaneseInternment #PIC
And it's not like the US has a great track record in running safe clean healthy domestic camps in which to concentrate undesirables like for example jails and prisons and juvies and "troubled teen" programs

We wouldn't be here if there wasn't widespread support for caging & torturing people
Concentration camps preceded extermination camps by several years. They began in Germany just as administratively, just as innocuously, as this.

It's important to understand the historical track we are on.

Give your money to trans people directly. Flood their Venmos. Top out their fundraising campaigns. If you know someone connected to mutual aid, give them your money and tell them to use it as they see fit. Cover rent and materials for a group that needs you. Put your money where your mouth is.

For @us.theguardian.com, I wrote about how Silicon Valley’s right-wing politics go back to the dotcom mania of the 1990s — and how they’re far more central to the tech industry than we’ve previously thought

‘Headed for technofascism’: the rightwing roots of Silicon Valley
The industry’s liberal reputation is misleading. Its reactionary tendencies – celebrating wealth, power and traditional masculinity – have been clear since the dotcom mania of the 1990s

Fuck this Nazi commenter buuut...he's not wrong about who it's for. This is where they'll take people when planes are denied entry to home countries as we saw last week.

One minute you're pulled over for a broken tail light on your way to work, next thing you're trapped at #Guantanamo for life.
No, it’s a detention center to hold migrants who are living illegally in the United States and cannot be deported to their home countries.

Why are you jumping to such a wild, unfounded comparison?

Why Guantánamo? Courts have ruled people held there have no habeas corpus rights against illegal detention. It’s starting with migrants. Who goes there next?

Especially terrifying and despicable because this allows them to obfuscate a lot of laws applicable to people held within U.S. borders or even in commonwealths like PR, Guam etc.

Guantanamo Bay is in CUBA: this location has explicitly been used to strip people of rights our laws enshrine.

Make sure to celebrate and observe these holidays bigger than you ever have before.

FEBRUARY is still BLACK HISTORY MONTH
MARCH is still WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
and so on...
Now more than ever, make that mean something. Speak up and share. White silence=Violence. Silence=Death.
Intelligence officials are starting to leak to me now too. Here’s a memo Defense Intelligence Agency personnel received instructing them to suspend observances including:

- MLK Day
- Juneteenth
