Okay now that it is seemingly confirmed via datamine stuff and not just folks posting on Twitter:

If/when Harry Potter stuff comes to Fortnite if you are still playing that game I Will Be Judging You. Fortnite is fun. I've enjoyed playing it over the years.

To make common cause with this Administration is to support an affirmatively white supremacist vision of this country. Period.

Every corporation.
Every Republican.
Every influencer.
Every Governor.
Every evangelical leader.
Every voter. Yes. Every voter.

This is such a compassionate & thoughtful thread. I quit teaching—something I genuinely love doing—in 2022 for several burnout-inducing reasons, but the constantly compounding nightmare I see former colleagues enduring is so much worse.
I have been reading all the "students these days" threads from various sides and I have an essay's worth of thoughts -- there's a lot of complexity and heterogeneity that is hard to communicate on social media. There are a couple of things I will say here though. 1/

Financial precarity. Yes university students have always been living on their last 20 bucks, but the number of students I talk to now who have *multiple* jobs in addition to being fulltime students, some of whom are taking care of family members' survival needs as well as their own, is shocking. 5/

Saw someone on the bird app say feminism is an extension of imperialism and that might have made me see red for a second. Why is there a movement of Black men who are so resistant to Black women having autonomy and equity in being human. Because at its core that’s what feminism is about.

In so many ways, I often feel like a very different person (in an extremely good way) since starting HRT last year. Even in the roughest times, my perspective on life feels like it can return to healthier areas of reflection and self-value, which always felt like an impossibility previously.
HRT really is a miracle drug because the change in my partner's mental health these past few months has been astounding.
So much less self-hatred, she's happier, she makes her bed and takes care of her space more, and she just seems more herself in a way I didn't know was possible.

I realise that you as a cis person could follow up by saying in a wise tone "well, these are the dangers of being dependent on a drug" but you don't say that about other drugs. When it's a drug that's necessary for *you* to live you are perfectly capable of understanding that it is not optional.

I realise that to cis people, when trans people lose access to gender-affirming care, it seems like we're bitching about not getting our little treats.

I have more than one friend whose body is currently falling apart because it no longer makes its own hormones and the government banned their HRT.

This is like the UBI study in that we've done it, like, five times and no one gives a shit because the people who are passing legislation against trans people don't actually care about trans suicide, they like trans suicide, they want it to happen

The thing about CrunchyRoll’s enshittification is that normally I’m a big proponent of supporting official channels but if the money from subscriptions isn’t being used to pay talent and labour and the quality suffers as a result, then morally what’s the purpose of supporting those official means?

Not a single major news outlet has covered this story. There is such a blatant, obvious attempt to suppress any and all news that deals with the actual facts about transgender life and experience. As the government rolls back our rights on an unprecedented scale, we have been left out to dry.
