1st SDCC I didn't attend since 2003. And I'm totally ok with it
For less than we would have spent on a week at SDCC we'll be spending a month in Wales. Mostly w/in-laws. But we roadtripping for a week. And even if we'd paid cash (we're using pts), it would have cost less than SDCC.
Easy choice.

So much this. I just had a big cross stitch retreat ask for free shit not only for their attendees, but for their fucking volunteers in exchange for "exposure". You know what? I budgeted that shit into my retreats. Stop being cheap and asking other small businesses to make up for your shortcomings.
Y'all—and I say this not to shame anyone but it needs to be said—this is possibly the worst time to ask small shop owners/artists for donations in exchange for exposure. I can't pay rent with exposure. And tariffs are about to put a lot of us out of business as it is.

Best thing I've found to truly escape the world, to focus so completely on something that I forget the horrors happening around me, is cross stitching. It's the best exercise for my mental health I have. Focus so completely I forget everything else.
I'm doing a heck of a lot of it these days.

So sad that all the local Joann's are closing. Fuckers literally ran all the small stores out of the entirety of So Cal only to fail themselves. Grr

Why TF is Amazon trying to CHARGE me to return an item that is damaged? It's not my fault it's damaged, & I shouldn't have to go out of my way to go to a Whole Foods cause they prefer that, when it's broken. I will go to a UPS Store because I often go there anyway, but shouldn't have to PAY FOR IT
