I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

senior and tenured faculty need to start thinking *now* about how they are going to shield junior/untentured/non-tt faculty and gtas who are members of targeted groups from high risk professional situations.

I'm gonna say two things and then I'm logging off for the day:
1. Don't do anything permanent today that can't be undone. This sucks, this hurts, but by God stay breathing, even if, ESPECIALLY if, out of spite.
